Terrible school. Gangs, bullies, teachers that don’t care. Staff that that won’t help. A Dean that has a napoleon complex. Avoid at all costs. If you are lucky enough to have one of the 3 great teachers then you’ve seen it all. Zero sensitivity towards children with mental health issues. They’ve had suicides, murders, and daily fights. The Dean was even beat up by a student. They have unrealistic unsympathetic teachers and staff.

I don’t like the deans since the school started this year they been denying my daughter and giving me a hard time putting her in school I always have to keep emailing them a lot and they ignore me and been saying I stay with my sister in law she took me and my daughter in and don’t have no proof of address only thing I got with the proof of address is my I’D or mail and that’s it since we we’re homeless now staying with her only people that are respectful is the front desk and I am reporting this school the the bored of education since they wanna deny my daughter and not wanting her in school.

This school do not care about students academics, overall very unprofessional staff especially the attendance office marking students absent when they’re sitting in the classroom and send you to court for truancy tickets. Worst school ever!

My high school experience at Argo was phenomenal. If students applied themselves, they were challenged immensely academically. The honors programs and AP programs were extremely well-developed and prepared you VERY well for the AP exams. For instance, I took AP World History, which was NOT a forte of mine, and managed a 4 on the AP exam. There are good teachers here, teachers who genuinely care for their students and challenge them. The area the school is in is not the best, but the school itself is incredible. Also, there is an immense amount of extra-curricular activities that students can participate in. I alone was involved in 5-10 clubs throughout my high school experience and enjoyed every one.

Worst school I have ever had to send my kid to. He ended up getting his GED in his third year rather than finish here.

This is great school--I would be proud to send any of my children here. The majority of staff members really care about kids, and there are excellent opportunities for students on both ends of the spectrum-- those who struggle and those who excel. There are many choices in AP classes, and the school has done a lot to build these programs for our kids. The school is very safe and well-organized. Don't let the rumors and gossip fool you-- this is a good school.

Although the school isn't in the best area, I consider the school to be just as good as its counterparts Staggering H.S. and Sandburg H.S. The teachers are great with the kids and seem to be very motivated to teach. The schools facilities are top notch and their curriculum is very challenging for students including my son. He is currently in the Honors program and I see everyday how he is being challenged not only by his instructor s but by his peers. At first I was a little skeptical about the school but now I would recommend the school to any parents who may have doubts.

Although this school tends to get a bad rap because of the surrounding neighborhood I would highly recommend this school. My daughter has been attending this school for 3 years and I am pleasantly surprised. The teachers go above and beyond to help students as well as the counselors, deans, coaches, etc. They offer free after school tutoring and have so much to offer as far as sports, clubs, etc. Don't pass this school up!! I am a resident of Willow springs and was originally upset because my daughter was not in the LT school district, however now I have no regrets. She is excelling and with the free ACT prep, tutoring, etc. she is preparing for college and her future. I have nieces who attend LT and struggle with a subject only to find out that there are not many tutoring/after school help for them. Argo is a great school!! I never feel unsafe nor does my child.

I attended Argo, and it was an excellent school. I feel that at Argo, you get what you put into it. I have seen students go forth and pursue Ivy League educations, as I have seen students who simply could care less. This, however, is no fault of the staff because I do feel that the teachers at Argo amongst the best. They are genuine, educated, and for the most part, warm hearted. In my time at Argo, the English and Math departments were the ones who I feel left a lasting impression on me because of their own experience and intelligence. All in all, I know Argo has a notorious reputation, but you would be a fool to write it off. It is in a bad area, but it really is a good school.

Quality teaching in a safe environment (even though the area isn't the best.)
