If I had the means I would have sent my kids to another school. My youngest daughter was denied a spot at a school function due to her ethnicity when she clearly had the higher GPA. One of the teachers told her it was because she was not a member of The biggest family in town. After my daughter was in University of Missouri she told me the school did not prepare her for college. My daughter also reported to me the school cheats on the Scholastic aptitudes tests given yearly.

The College Admissions Scandal of March 2019 reminds me of the favoritism shown to the children of community leaders in Stover, MO. They could probably learn from this but I doubt they will. This is one of the many reasons this is a dying town that can't attract new businesses.

This school is the worst school I have ever put my child in. He is bored in class because it is not challenging. He is one of a handful of students here that rate above average on tests for this school and the state overall. He has been bullied by the school principal and the counselor as well as a few of the students. There is definitely favoritism toward those families that have been in the area a long time and those whose families are wealthy. I actually moved for the express purpose of getting my child OUT of this school.

AWESOME!! They have very caring teacher's that are willing to help any child that need's it . But that child has to "want" to be helped. Yes as with any school there are a few lazy one's that are there just for the check , but they are in the minority here. My husband graduated here as did our daughter & now our Grandchildren are attending & doing very well , I couldn't be more pleased. They have had a lot of cut's , And I pray it doesn't hurt the children as much as some might think. I think with the great faculty & staff , they can overcome it . I do think they need a lot more parent involvement not only at the school , but with the children at home!! We are not one of the bigger names in Stover , just parent's & grandparent's that don't blame the school for thing's that could be accomplished at home. Come on parent's help them out .. Just a little , see how much better the school & kid's can be !! At the very least don't criticize them for doing the best they can. I am proud to have my grandchildren attending this school... "AWESOME" !!

This School... I wouldn't send my worst enemy's kids to this school. If you don't have the family connections in this school, prepare to have your kid harassed for missing one day of school; put into ISS for having a tardy, have the secretary mark your child absent when your child is tardy; written up for being from certain areas of the school district; be disliked for not having family connections in the school; excluded for being smart; if your child has an IQ above 50, not being challenged; No AP courses, all "Advanced" courses your child may want to take will have to be done online at about $250 a semester plus books and fees; and you may want to pack your child's lunch everyday, the school food puts more kids in the nurse than fights. There was a huge reduction of teachers, so expect your child's entire grade to be in each class with them; and don't even ask for personal attention from a teacher, there's too many students. We have an excellent up and going music program: Band, Choir, Chamber Choir and Flag Team. We have no full time librarian, and honestly, need more funding to correct all of this.
