This district is head and shoulders above other comparable schools in Kansas. Behavior is a non-issue, staff feels valued, and students are genuinely cared for. I'll teach here as long as I can.

Not able to handle kids with learning disabilities or special needs. Detrimental to punish elementary school kids for low test scores when so much is the teacher's responsibility to help them learn at that age. Talk about doing long term damage to a child's mentality. Shame on them.

Caring teachers, professional administration, amazing facilities, and great kids! This school demonstrates everything that is good and right with public education.

Trouble with the integrity aspect of this staff. Some of the teachers are the best in the state, while others and administration hurt the school.

When our kids moved to this school from another state, they were in 4th and 6th grade and were reading barely on grade-level, even though they were very bright kids. Their first year at Sterling Grade School their reading levels rose to several levels _above_ grade level. We had several kids go through Sterling Grade School and found the teachers strong, the administration very helpful and accommodating, and the parents and community are very supportive of the school.

My children moved here with one at average and above after being here they have both had falling test scores. This school proves there's such a thing as too much tracking. And when mixed with too many below average teachers , it ends up all bad. Don't send your kids here if you want them to go to collage.
