If you have a child in need of extra help with IEP or in need of a 504 plan - this district as a whole is NOT the district for your child!

A school is what the parents make it. Wiley grade school has a good mix of families attending. The parents are interactive and engaging and ready to lend a hand with school activities. My two sons have graduated college one with a masters the other a bachelors. They both are responsible adults. I attribute these qualities to both my wife as I worked second shift most of their grade school years and the school environment they became enveloped in. From scouts to super kids day Wiley is the kind of school you would want your kids in. So if your moving to the west side Hutchinson neighborhood fear not this wonderful school and welcome neighbor as I still live there.

Awful experience at this school. I personally walked in on teachers gossiping and/or griping about students in the presence of others. While I understand that teachers are just "human" and have many flaws, this goes WAY beyond unprofessional! I am disgusted that this behavior is allowed to continue and is not directly and immediately addressed by the less than caring principal. There are many reasons why principals should be shifted around every few years so that this type of comfort doesn't develop. Students should come first and at Wiley that is defintely not the case in my experience.
