Kids dont get to be kids in this school. Its like sending my child to military school everyday. I wish I didnt have to send my children here. Kids being told no talking during lunch. No birthday celebrations. All the fun parts of school have been sucked out. How do you convince kids, little kids to go to school every morning when its just a miserable time.

This 2 rating is completely wrong. The score comes from the test scores There is a high number of low-income kids and that is going to affect the scores for a number of reasons. My kindergartener is flourishing under her teacher's guidance. The programs here are better than nearby "better" schools. The teacher's care. There are a lot of community involvement activities. The principal is present and visible. Way to go Dawes!

This school is proudly interracial with many ethnic groups along with a Blue Ribbon and Blue Star rating!! My two sons go to Dawes Ave School. My 5th grader son has Apraxia. You would never even knew he had it. The teachers care about his progress and wellness. Blue Ribbon and Blue Star school and much more!!!!! My younger kindergartener is in advanced reading. They have a special program for him to meet his reading needs with other kids like him. We moved from Massachusetts to New Jersey and waited two months to find a house in Somers Point just so our kids can attend Dawes and Jordan schools. I am so proud of our teachers and the whole school board faculty. Both of my children are A and B students!. A 2 ranking is way off.

I give a big thumbs up to this school ! My son has been going there for 4 years . We are from Galloway and although they have great teachers from there , the whole atmospher is wonderful at Dawes ave . The teachers are great my son has loved each one , and I truely belive they care for him . The parents /school involvment is almost like a big family . He will be in 6th grade this semester , so it will be his last year then on to Jordan rd . I can only hope Jordan rd will be just as awsome ! A big thank you from the Luckenbach family
