Skull Valley Elementary is a small school with great teachers. Each child is treated as an individual, with differences being accounted for in terms of expectations and goals. Many of the children are challenged and require special attention. This is addressed by focusing on each students strengths.

I loved the school. Even with the chaos of the distance learning through the coronavirus the teachers were available for questions and Mrs. MARTINEZ checked on us as often as she could to ensure my daughter was getting the materials.

Nothing short of fantastic. From the moment we walked in the door five years ago to now, we have been so happy that our children could attend this wonderful school. Teachers have gone above and beyond to challenge our children academically and give them all the tools they need. The world of IEPs was foreign to me, and instead of falling through the cracks, the school teachers, administration and specialeducation staff and therapists have made sure our childrens' needs are being met. Even after moving further away, we are committed to keeping our children in this school. There is question for us. This is the best place for them.

This is my second year working at this school. This is truly a teacher's paradise! I have 12 students, grades 4th through 8th grade. I also have a teacher's assistant. This allows each student to receive true individualized instruction. The students are kind to one another, respectful and happy. The special education program is a push-in model where special education students are with the general population 80% of the day. This allows these students to be exposed to the general education curriculum and also encourages acceptance of each other's differences. Also, I have never had to spend my own money on classroom supplies. We are well stocked, and anything I ask for is supplied. We are encouraged to attend continuing education courses which are paid for by the district. Our students have the privilege of having PE, music, art, drama and American Sign Language as their special classes. Due to the stress free environment, I am finally the teacher I've always wanted to be and I've been teaching for 13 years!
