Granite Mountain has been a great school for my daughter with an IEP. This school goes out of their way to provide fun and engaging social interaction opportunities for all their students (both online and in person) as well as critical mental health support opportunities. As well as academic support and even support and educational opportunities for Parents. My students HST does a great job and really cares about the students success AND wellbeing. My child is much happier out of an in person public school setting (which was unable to meet her needs). Our family is lucky to have this school as an option.

Granite Mountain has been overall a bad experience. They lack resources to support parents in their homeschool experience. Also expect nothing from your HST. You will be doing all the research and vendor search. When comes to a child with IEP, you have to fight them to provide resources for your child to be successful academically. They do not care and staff seems to know very little. Please parents know you have rights with IEP. Do not sign IEP if you do not agree. Granite staff will act like they know whats best for your child, and remove services that are needed. Expect no family engagement. Expect no assessment done by a HST but by you. Run away if you can.

Do not send your child here if you don’t have to. Plenty of charter school options in the area. Biggest mistake we ever made. So much to tell that this survey doesn’t cover.

My daughter went there last year in grade 6 and this year my other daughter is there in grade 5. So far there have been no issues. There is a variety of classes other than core classes (music, stream, art, PE) and after school clubs as well. The office personnel are courteous and helpful, whether in person or email/phone. The school is always sending phone messages or emails to update on current events. We are very happy in this school.

I didn't learn more than a handful of things in my two years at this school. Great music program, but all the other classes taught me was how to sleep with my eyes open. The staff were not very willing to go out of there way for special cases (I was looking to take high school courses while at the school).

Granite Mountain Middle School was an excellent choice for my daughter. We moved here from Oklahoma and I was nervous about her going to a different school after being in the same one her whole life. GMMS made the transition a smooth and memorable experience for us. Their teachers are VERY involved with the children and genuinely care about them.
