I am a 7th grader here, and my experience at Argyle so far has been pretty good. Most of the teachers are friendly, and they have special programs for kids who are disabled, so everyone is included. Many students enjoy activities and have bunches of activities where they can earn SSL hours. Plus, they have weekly newsletters and always send updates about the school on Remind, so you almost always know what to expect. I took off one star mainly because some of the students don't respect the teachers and their peers, and they barely let their teachers finish one sentence. Plus, I see fights at least every 3 weeks. The band teacher is extremly nice, and is very helpful, and he is very organized. Argyle is very sporty, and there are many clubs to join for all grades. There are also coding extracurriculars, and they have a tech team that is availble every time so that if you need a new replacment of a chromebook or need it to get fixed, they can do it for you. Despite a few exepsions, I like this school and it is a good place for growing learners.

I am a 8th grader here, and all I can say is that just because this place is a magnet school, looks amazing from the outside, and offers different things than other schools does not mean its good whatsoever. The money for this school is horribly managed, and it has taken them months to get the whole 6th grade iPads. For a tech school, the tech here fails all the time, the wifi breaks down a lot as well. Kids here are not friendly and racist. It has taken them many years to improve the bathrooms and other rooms. Out of all the MCPS schools, Argyle needs a lot of updating- nearly all of the classrooms have no windows, and the layout of the school is crazy and is hard to navigate at times. Majority of the teachers are nice, but it takes forever for any admin to fire the actual teachers with no experience, but fire all the beneficial teachers. Besides this, the teachers, and making sure the students are comfortable is really valued here and that is really great. Besides the teachers and managing of the students, I would not go here at all. It is very misleading.

I love this school. Though fights and insubordination are consistent problems, the school handles it in a way they see as appropriate. The technology magnet is a one-of-a-kind opportunity, and I've learned so many things just in my first year. The teachers really do want you to succeed, and I worked up from failing half of my classes to honor roll because my teachers helped me after school / via Gmail and other methods. A free computer is never hard to come by, seen as this school has NINE computer labs. The teachers are very knowledgeable about their subjects as well as the Promethean boards and other forms of technology. The school also has some great athletic fields for Gym class. The administration also works tirelessly to ensure a safe learning environment.
