Pros: Academically speaking A++. Kindergarten with Mrs. Miller will have your child(ren) prepared for 1st grade. Daily evidence to prove what the student learned that day. So if you're looking for academic improvements, generally a good teacher, grate team spirit. Mrs. Miller's kindergarten class is the place. Kindergarten at horizon provides a good chance for September-October babies to flourish. All students have 1 on 1 with Miller. Her class has a lot to offer. She gives emotional support to the students if needed. She's always there to help your student and you as a parent. She's magical, passionate about her class. You need to meet her in person! Cons: Clearly, we aren't at a club. Kids don't need to be exposed to this fashion (Note: Just some of the staff need a change in wardrobe. ). In the other hand. Mrs.Miller is a grate example of "Dress for Success!" Overall this school has a lot to offer academically, and community wise! Dress code needs improvment but thats a minor. You won't be disappointed after taking the Horizon tour!

I am the parent of two kids who both attended Horizon for several years. I couldn't have been happier with the experience. It did a great job preparing our kids for elementary school and more importantly, instilled a love of school in our kids. The notion that this is glorified daycare is simply untrue. Both my wife and I are Ivy League grads and we take education very seriously. We chose Horizon only after comparing it against many of the other options that are out there. I would encourage any parent thinking of sending their kids to Horizon to stop by and take a tour. Seeing is believing.

We've been Horizon parents for 7 yrs now (2 kids) and have always been so happy. I don't even recognize the school the previous reviewer writes about! The staff at Horizon are warm, patient, creative and knowledgeable, and the comment about teachers doing the art for the kids is just ridiculous. Fund raising happens in every school now (I am a public school teacher in Seattle and even our school has an auction.) At Horizon there are family spaghetti or chili dinners a few times a year before parent programs, and a night out for parents in April that serves as a low key sort of auction. The goal with fundraising is to raise enough money that tuition remains accessible to more families. True, there was a fundraising drive at the beginning of this year to replace the ancient computers with ipads, but as always contributions were voluntary (and private.) Horizon is a lovely little school with a true family atmosphere. Thanks to Horizon my now 3rd grade son entered our neighborhood school with the academic, social and emotional tools he needed to thrive. I'm certain I will bawl my head off when my youngest "graduates." I'd bet the vast majority of Horizon parents feel the same!

I'm very disappointed in the program. It is something that could be great but it's not. There is no communication between teacher and parent. They got rid of their computer lab and replaced them with iPads. The staff spends far more time and energy on fundraising than children's well being. Teachers are dishonest about child's work (doing the projects for them and telling the parents the child did them.) The staff is rude and abrupt. It is expensive daycare that does not care about the children's development. It's very closed and I do not see how it is community.

Horizon has become a top notch pre-school! Horizon School has recently gone through a period of reorganization and has come out better than ever! We've had two children attend over the years, one of whom is currently enrolled in Project Transition. The staff is caring, dedicated, and motivated to teach and lead. The school offers perks like a computer lab, and an indoor gym with Gross Motor Curriculum everyday. The kids go on field trips, and they put on parent performances throughout the year. As a parent, my top concerns with selecting a preschool were that my kids were in a safe environment, having fun, and learning what they needed to succeed in elementary school. Horizon was the only school that I found to meet all of these requirements. I highly recommend taking a tour and seeing for yourself.

Horizon is a great school. They offer drama, Spanish, physical education, ballet and more. I highly recommend this school to a parent that is looking for an educational learning environment for their child with a close knit community of families.
