I've sent four children to Helen Haller Elementary School, including one who is still there now. It has excellent teachers, most of whom are very experienced and do a great job of balancing academics and social support/caring. The biggest problem with the school is the district leadership; in 2023 they unilaterally changed the school from a K-5 school to grades 3-5 even though about a hundred parents protested for months. Be aware that if you live right next to Helen Haller, as we do, that you now have to send your kindergartener to the next town over for three years before you get to have your child close to home. I hope they bring back neighborhood schools to Sequim someday - it was much better when we had a west side elementary school and east side elementary school.

I’ve had a child at this school for three years and their teachers have been outstanding. I’ve brought a concern to the principal once and heard back on the same day. In my experience the front office staff is wonderful. I would not hesitate at all to recommend this school to others. I believe the leadership fosters a caring and supportive environment.

I believe this school has great development learning programes for all ages. They also offer councleing for all ages k to 12 my children have gone to this school from k and up and they have done everything possible to help my children succeed and my son has my major progress within this school and all the teachers we feel like family and his learning has improved as well parents are as well reasonable for there children's help at home and homework it not just teachers jobs it takes parents as well

Helen Haller has a major problem with bullying. They claim to be advocates for kids who are bullied, but in my experience this is certainly not the case. I've had 3 children in this particular building and each one of them has had a negative experience with this issue. The victims are disciplined while the bullies have zero consequences. If they say it never happened administration does nothing about it and does not follow through with a resolution for the student being bullied. The issues rarely occur while in the classroom with the teacher, but while out on the playground for recess and during lunch. Administration at all other schools in the district have a much better grasp on how to handle this type of behavior. My children have suffered through 5 years of this and now have confidence issues because of the degrading nature of their experiences. I would not recommend sending your child/children to this school. Greywolf is a better alternative.

Excellent. As a retired teacher, principal, and evaluator for school accreditation, I see this school close to the top of the heap. As a parent of 2, grandparent of 5, great grandparent of 5, and foster parent of 23, I have had yet another perspective of school effectiveness. Fortunate is the parent whose children attend Helen Haller Elementary.
