This school picks and chooses the students it cares to like. My son was in 4th grade here and it seemed as though the only 2 fourth grade teachers were teaming up on him. Picking and choosing students (someone else I knew had the same problem also) The one teacher rambled to me on the phone, she became loud when I seemed puzzled because my son is a good boy. I told her we could have a meeting to see what this was really about. Here she was overreacting and her only possible complaint to the principle was my son was too quiet. Yes too quiet. Grades were great. She threw accreditations in my face and became more irritated when there was no reasoning behind her behavior. I pulled my son from the school. Be careful if your child is in the 4th grade here and pay attention if they become upset.

I really thought my granddaughter was in a descent school and adjusting well to kindergarden, only to find out after her first week she is being moved to a school no where near their home because of too many children.... She only lives 2 blocks from the school and will have to be on a bus!!!! This is not right at all!!! Very disappointed in the Scranton School Distrist !!!!

This is by far one of the best schools I have come across. The principal is an excellent leader.... supportive of his staff but clearly in charge. In the same manner he is very encouraging of the students. He greets each by name both coming and leaving the school each day. The teachers are very dedicated and willing to spend personal time( and sometimes money) to provide the students with what is necessary to learn. The school also has a superb PTA that funds field trips, holiday gifts, and other perks for the students' education. Test scores are fantastic, especially when compared with other schools with a similar demographic, you can see that for yourself. In all, this is a friendly neighborhood school with a strong emphasis on community and education. It is a rare example of a place where all the right elements have come together to provide the perfect environment for learning.

Mr. O'donell the principal is involved in everyday routines and knows every child by name. The parents, pta, teachers and staff are all organized and work well together, We have organized fun family times and events. Best Elementary school around. My children enjoy going to school everyday and are excited to tell about what they did and learned when they come home.
