J Wallace James is an awesome school. The teachera actually love their job and it shows in how they love and support their students. My boys love their school. The teachers and staff go out if their way to make learning fun.

Teachers are great. Administration needs improvement. Principals avoid contact with parents. You would have to trip them in the hall to get their attention. They are indiffferent to parental concerns.

J. Wallace James Elementary School is a school of choice. The school focuses on arts and technology. In theory developing the right and left brain. Their teaching staff are great and the students are happy. My daughter loves it there and is learning a lot every day.

I am so glad that my child is out of this school, i liked it when she was in K-3,I feel the teachers were more hands on with the students, she liked and respected them, but as she moved to 4-5,teachers were less likely to care about the quality of education & more about discipline, they were more prone & fast to write up a child as opposed to finding the root of the issue & resolving it, their patience was a@ 0 & she had more substitute teachers than should be allowed in a school year. These subs would come in and expect to kick back and do nothing and i dont feel she learned anything in her 4-5 grade years, she struggled in math and i asked for a tutor or someone to help her understand it better and was denied saying "oh she is fine in math" really? well her grades in math reflect otherwise. she would come home and cry because she didnt understand what she was doing. A "sub" actually ruined a group project that my daughter and her group put together and blamed it on the students and when my daughter stood and told the truth, was written up and denied access to end of the year school fun day after i had already paid my money and was refused a refund.I hate this school.
