Terrill is a great school. Teachers and principal are very supportive. Excellent teaching. My kids love their school.

An excellent example of what a per-high school should be. The staff and Dr. Holloway, are incredibly easy to reach and communicate with. My son fell behind due to only his own fault and every single teacher he had and Dr. Holloway himself, took the time to daily, and I mean daily, work with him to make sure he was caught up. A fabulous place to send your children.

Terrill has supportive teachers and a great band program. However, the inside of the school is in pretty terrible condition

Unfortunately there was a major disconnect between the staff and the parents, in particular the principal. He was not always present at school functions and was always very distant. When issues arised he referenced the books and rules and said everything was done strictly by the books. My daughter was very unhappy there to the point I had to transfer to a different school. Overall we had a very bad experience.

My daughters have blossomed here, the previous principal spent too much time managing meetings and administration and was generally weak. Yes the new principal can be a bit of a pain, but he hasn't allowed parents to ride roughshod over children's placements. There has also been a huge improvement in how they teach writing, and several of the weakest teachers have been moved around. Overall I am much happier, I don't expect him to be my friend, but the atmosphere at the school has improved during his tenure.

TMS has some fabulous teachers, notably Mr. Christopher, who runs the after-school art club; Ms. Baxter, whose 8th-grade Social Studies class is challenging and engaging; Mrs. Dharmi, a very dedicated science teacher; & Mme. Emanuel for 8th-grade French, who's absolutely wonderful. There are some teachers, however, who seem woefully inexperienced or to be phoning it in. My daughter, who is in honors math and English, has not had her needs met in math this year. I've tried unsuccessfully to discuss this with her guidance counselor and the principal, who has been unresponsive so far (several calls and emails not returned). I do love the friendly and diverse student body at TMS. My daughter feels safe in school and has made so many good friends. Bullying does not happen at TMS, as far as I can tell, and it is OK to be exactly who you are.
