Wonderful school. We are very happy to be part for Mckinley.

We were initially pleased with the school but were soon disappointed when learning differences presented in one of our children. The comfort level of the teachers, as well as the desired conformity amongst their students came before the educational needs of our child. In our experience the administration developed a "plan" that merely highlighted the challenges that our child faced, but did not support our child's development and success at the school.

Mr Biunno is an incredible principal who cares so deeply about children feelings and safety that his leadership and empathy is truly unparalleled. My son's teacher Miss Zales is an extraordinarily patient and compassionate teacher who has given him an amazing level of support I am deeply grateful for. This is no better school than Mckinney!

Overall I’d rate this school at a 3 in terms of diversity in learning, promoting positive character traits and understanding of differences.

Great school, great staff, very nurturing environment. The crown jewel of the Westfield school system!

I can't say enough about what an amazing school this is. Caring faculty, dedicated parents, and a great curriculum are the perfect recipe for this spectacular elementary school. I feel very fortunate that my family is a part of the McKinley community!

I am a former student and can't tell you enough how outstanding this school is. Sweet, kind and caring staff. Amazing playground. Happy environment. When i moved out of state in 4th grade, I realized how this school is excellent compared to most elementary schools. I WANTED to go to school in the morning, I was actually excited to go and see my friends and learn. This school wasn't a school to me-it was a second home. There is a tiny catch- science isn't a strong subject. Other than that its perfect.

McKinley is really a wonderful school. My child finished first grade and had a very positive experience. The teachers are warm and caring, and taught effectively without simply piling on homework. The community is so enthusiastic about the school, and the parents are extremely involved, which makes one feel special to be a part of the McKinley family. I grew up in NYC and attended public schools, and my one apprehension about the Westfield School system was that it was going to be snobby. I do not have any personal experience in the other schools, but I can say that the atmosphere in McKinley is down-to-earth and caring. This was a great relief. If you would like your child in a loving, open environment, I highly recommend the McKinley neighborhood!

THIS SCHOOL IS FABULOUS! I get tears in my eyes justing thinking aobut the experiences my children are having at McKinley. I can only say good things about this school. The teachers are caring and professional, the new principal is doing great (he had really big shoes to fill), and the community of students and their familes are extraordinary. There are so many wonderful opportunities for the students to grow and become part of communtiy here. If you are looking into purchasing a home in Westfield, look no further than the McKinley school area. So many families, a wonderfully small community where everyone knows everyone -- JUST FABULOUS!

My children and I love this school and can't say enough good things about it. Strong academics, caring teachers, and strong parent involvement and sense of community. There's the annual adult social, the popular student carnival, "Kapers," which is the annual musical production, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Kid TV, music, art, the annual faculty volleyball game that the kids LOVE, Bingo night, family book club, movie nights in the gym, etc. etc. You walk into this charming old building and see all of the kids' colorful creations hanging and it immediately boosts your spirits. The library is a great space, and the big playground is a popular gathering spot right after school. Small student body. The new principal is a wonderful man, too, working hard and very dedicated. This school is dear to our hearts. Go McKinley!

I disagree with this review. Mckinley School was huge disappointment to me. I would never recommend this school to anyone. My child has trauma for being this school.
