This school is disgusting and crazy, if your giving this school a five star you’re very much wrong. My child told me that a student threw a chair at a teacher. The teachers completely ignore threats unless there told by smarter children or are suicidal threats. Some teachers explain things in the worst way possible. If you think this school is nice, your child is lying.

Have nothing but great things to say about this school. My son was having tough time transitioning in the school and they found ways to work with him so he can succeed in the school

The teachers at the school are involved and passionate about the students and their families. They understand the curriculum and meeting the needs of students. The assistant principal and principal are always available for me to meet with them.

I have to say i was very nervous sending my son to schenectady public schools , and I am happy I did. Yates is amazing Principal Flanders is great he is there every morning when kids arrive he is easy to contact and takes an interest in helping the kids learn and behave. I am very happy with the decision I made and extremely happy he is at Yates. Now if more parents were willing to work with our teachers and princiapals in curving our children to learn and obey rules maybe we could make something of our kids..

The teachers do not seem to relate to their student population and even were at times heard yelling at them. The teachers are unapproachable and seem to be there just for a paycheck. Not at all happy with the atmosphere there.

Teachers and principal are available and listen to parents. The school is really about what students need, academically and socially. It's a family atmosphere with a caring, veteran staff. The principal knows every child and their needs.
