This school allows groups of students to pick on and brutalize students with special needs. The administration which has been asked for help does nothing except turn their backs and allows violent encounters to repeatedly occur.

The teachers are mostly pretty good. The academics are great, but the campus is dirty and the students are toxic and pick fights with each other for no reason. I always see other students get harassed and nobody does anything about it which makes people think it’s okay to do this type of stuff. This school could honestly have been near the best in the area if they disciplined their students better and it’s very disappointing considering this school seems well-funded and could definitely afford to fix the bullying situation at the school.

My son has, luckily, only gone here for one year. There is absolutely no communication from teachers. The guidance counselor, Wilkes, is completely unwilling to help a student with adhd. She acts as if the diagnosis is not real and tells the student to be more organized. Poor organizational skills are a landmark of adhd, which means the student needs help, not judgment. The staff automatically assumed my child is a bad kid, when he’s not. King-Clay needs to retire as she cannot keep up with technology and is a terrible teacher. I’m completely fed up with the unsupportive and unhelpful staff who seriously need some education in regards to dealing with neurodivergent students. Someone with a disability should not be treated this way.

its getting worse im telling you. back to school, and theres already a fight by ozzies (fast food diner where many students go after school). SOAR class...dont get me started. the previous years have been much better from what i have heard. but lets talk about behavior. fights, n-slur being said left and right, multiple slurs actually, and also smoking/vaping in the bathrooms. (please i just want to use the bathroom) some students are abusing the passes each quarter (in reference to one of the previous reviews on here) and staying out of the classroom by just wandering around campus, for sometimes even 10-20 mins at a time. other students are also interrupting (and/or talking back to) the teacher/not listening. and i get that its boring, but seriously, dont make a comment on everything, and stop picking "play"-fights then victim blaming. also, THE DRESS CODE??? some of my belly is showing, oh no, but i dont have a jacket because its so hot!! looks like im gonna get dress coded today yay! the teachers deserve so much more money! some security guard of some sort would be extremely helpful, maybe better ac in older classrooms. and maybe think about a better bathroom situation while youre at that too!

This school academically is very good. The teachers actually can teach and like they’re job. But the campus itself is nasty. There’s always spilled food and half the doors in the bathroom don’t close. There’s always some people skipping and using the stalls that do work. There were many fights during this year. I heard that this is the most amount of fights they had ever so i’m guessing coming from the covid situation people don’t know how to behave. I heard next year they’re doing something to teach the kids not to fight at the very beginning of the year. i wont be attending next year so i won’t know what that is like.

I go here it is a pretty good school but since the year is coming to an end there is a fight every day a lot of slurs being said and sexual talk and the campus is nasty

It has a lot of great learning experiences, but other then that its not very good. People are constantly being bullied and harassed by kids that teachers love. It definitely is better then most schools, but one can not ignore the fact that this school has a lot of teachers that have you feeling like your not being respected. I have frequently gone into panic attacks because of something the teachers have said. The campus is really dirty, but its mostly the students faults.

I AM PUTTING THIS AS A FIVE STAR SO IT DOESN'T GET HIDDENThis school academically is especially exceptional. The campus its self is a repulsive and nauseating mess the bathrooms look like a gas station in the middle of nowhere, lunch area has spilled food in every corner and the lockers are stomach churning. Of course if the students were to take well care of the campus, rvms would be a dream of a school but unfortunately the lack of responsibility in the students makes this a dissiponing learning environment.

Im a student at rincon valley middel school you learn alot i love the staff so much they are so lovely you make so much friends sometimes the office ladies are rude. they kinda make ugly faces at you. you learn a lot of world history and math,PE is so fun.But i just dont like to change because its to cooled in the dressing room. But luckly i have a rincon valley pe hoodie they are perfect for PE and more.The student love rincon valley middel school on fridays its so so fun at lunch theres music games When im feel blue sometime i just love to hang at school with friends .

I am a student at rincon valley and I personally really like it. I love all of my teachers and I have learned a lot this year. I also have made a lot of new friends. But I do think that the office ladies are very rude. One day I had an orthodontist appointment and my mother forgot to go to the office that morning to write a pass for me to get out of class so I went to the office at the time that my mother was going to pick me up and I hoped that they would be understanding but they were very strict and rude to me. I never would have expected for such an amazing school to have rude office ladies. They are also very rude to parents too. I over all love rincon and I am very grateful to be attending this school.

I have been very disappointed with the teachers and overall climate of this school. There are a few good teachers, who I feel genuinely care about kids personally and academically, but for the most part, my experiences lead me to believe that teachers at Rincon Valley Middle only care about making their jobs easier. Few teachers are available to give kids extra help outside of school hours. Several of my kids' teachers have told their classes that kids need to get used to F's. Why tell kids this? When kids have asked how to raise their grades, most teachers say, "Do all the work," but won't accept late work or let kids retake tests. When half of a grade is based on test scores, it sets kids up for failure when you don't give them ways to retake a test or show they've learned the material later. I understand that this creates more work for the teacher, but this is what a dedicated teacher does. A number of teachers continue to send home homework assignments that are based on nothing kids have done in class, so my kids have had to do all the learning on their own. I won't send my younger student to Rincon.

Very disappointed in the impersonal nature of this school. Some teachers are good, but some are very strange. The school felt large and very institutional with "control" more important than learning.

Let me start by saying this was my jounior high when i was growing up and now 24yrs later I have chose it for my son to attend. I was very nerous when it came time to pick a middle school. I did my research and went to open house at a few different schools. There is such a strong parent/family involvment here and the Principle Mr. Marshall is so involved in the school and students. I look forward to his weekly emails letting everyone know what went on that week and any activites are going on. They make is very easy for the parents/students to connect, my son is able to go online and check his classroom status whenever he wants. I could go on and on about this school but I will finsh by saying my son has never been more excited to go to school than he has this year in middle school. I highly recommend any parent looking for a middle school in Santa Rosa to check out Rincon Valley Middle, they won't be disappointed. Yours truly, Brandi L.

Teachers are great,students are great, but the ladies who work in the office are honestly the rudest people I have come across. I honestly would not recommend going to tbs school just because of them it can really ruin your overall experience. They need to learn how to respect people and not focus to hard on the overal mold of the school.

My daughter has adjusted really well to middle school and I credit that to the teachers, volunteers, and staff. Teachers have been helpful and I found the office staff to be friendly and inviting.
