Now that kids five and up are eligible for covid vaccination, and the pandemic picture is looking much better I was surprised that Jack London will no longer allow parents on campus even briefly to drop off or pick up their kids even if you are masked, vaccinated, and outdoors the entire time. We were allowed to do this for almost three months, but now we are being told to "stay in our cars." Never mind that I walk my young daughter to school. The ironic thing is that I'm in closer contact with more kids while I stand at the back gate of the school than I ever was before when I was on campus! Ridiculous. The whole school packs into the cafeteria for Monday assemblies and kids eat lunch in close quarters, particularly when it rains, so it's not like they are overly cautious about everything. The teachers here have been great so far in my experience and I'm a big believer in neighborhood schools. It's just a shame that instead of rebuilding community at this stage of the pandemic the school chooses to remain distant and literally closed off.

HORRIBLE, RUN AWAY, DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS SUBPAR SCHOOL WITH NO INTEGRITY, EMPATHY, INCLUSIVE PRACTICES, DISCRIMINATORY AND UNTRUSTWORTHY ADMINSTRATION

I’m very happy overall with this campus. The support staff and teachers are incredible!

This is our neighborhood school. Our kids are young and they are on target with their age group. We are really happy with our choice.

I give it 2 out of 10 stars. Even though I'm in this school's district, I'm moving my 3rd and 4th graders to another school.

All three of my children have had caring teachers, enriching experiences and academic successes at Jack London. As my oldest gets ready to move on to middle school we are happy POCS is on the same campus. Wonderful school!!!!

I WOULD NOT, PERSONALLY, CHOOSE THIS SCHOOL FIRST. WE REALLY HAD NO OPTION WHEN WE FIRST GOT TO THIS DISTRICT AND I WAS OPTIMISTIC THAT THINGS WOULD GET BETTER, BUT THEY NEVER DID. I DID NOT FEEL LIKE MY DAUGHTER'S TEACHER CARED ABOUT HER EDUCATION OR WELL-BEING. I DO NOT AGREE WITH THAT.

I have two kids in Jack London this year. My oldest has been there since K he is in 5th grade now. 4th Grade was hard on him but he still came out with flying colors. The teacher work really hard on making sure the kids understand what they are teaching. My daughter is in K this year. She has ADHD and her teacher is doing really good with her and she is patient. My niece started at Pocs this years and she really likes it. We have had a great experience at this school and my kids will stay here till high school. So far the only thing they don't like is the play ground teachers and school lunch.

I have two children in Kindergarten at Jack London and was referred by my sister whom loved the school & had two children go there as well. With a child in each of the two Kindergarten classes I am & have been very pleased with their progress academically and socially. I volunteer in their classrooms, and have to say I have NEVER been discouraged from doing so, and on the other side I have never been made to feel bad for not making it in when something came up. The teachers have always been available to answer questions and chat about progress, as well as been attentive to the individual needs of students with focus groups after normal school hours to help with any areas the kids may be having difficulty with. Overall a great first school year experience, the small classes and excellent teachers have made year one a breeze. :)
