We took our child to GIS Pre-K and now he is in kindergarten, we have nothing but positive to say about this school! Our son is enjoying every minute of it and even on his day-off he is asking us if he can go to the school. The teaches and school staff are very friendly, they have the same programs that all the other schools have and most important they teach the kids how to behave and the religious values. I see some negative reviews from the parents stating: too much homework, teaches are too strict, kids are bullied...etc None of these are true, to me this looks like these are the parents who are expecting for the school to provide everything because they are paying for tuitions. It doesn't matter what school is your child going to attend, we as the parent we always going to be involved, and there always going to be homework's, educating your kids from the young age is not only teaches job but the parents job as well!

This school is facing systematic failure. They push positive PR so hard that they are unable to effectively deal with problems in the system or work environment because they are unable to hold an objective view. Be careful of emailing teachers! Some on staff take emails personally and may take it out on your kid from something s subtle as no longer greeting them to straight up asking "why did your parent send an email?" This has been my consistent experience as a parent. Finally, some members on staff are highly incompetent with teachers training teachers.

The school is absolutely amazing. They are doing their best to make the kids super happy. My daughter loves the school, her teachers and friends so much. It is really big challenge to have successful zoom classes for kindergarten but the school absolutely done it by superior way. Also when the kids return to school, we were really worried about their return but it was organized by a very safe and professional way. The teachers are amazing and so kind with the kids. There are many activities done online and onsite. The school teachers, school management and the whole school team are amazing and professional. Joining Granada was the best decision we have taken to our little girl.

My kids have been going to GIS since 2012. GIS helped them build a strong Islamic Foundation, long term friendships, and a sense of belonging to the local and global community. Our experience has been mostly positive. I always recommend GIS to new families.

This current leadership and some of the teachers need to GO. Lot of politics at the board and management level. The curriculum is poor compared to the avg public school. Trust me on this and please do your research.

Awful so far. Don't waste your money here. Consider part-time islamic programs and put your kids in competitive schools (private or public).

Bullying is a major issue and administrators don't punish bullies.

Granada Islamic School is a private school located in Santa Clara. My son started here in 6th Grade after finishing public elementary school of 10/10 ranking. He was a Gate student in the public school with Advance Math. After one year in Granada for my son, I found it to be better than the public school in terms of it to be more comprehensive, fast paced, easier to approach, friendlier, more caring and above all enriching my son with core values. I highly recommend this school to the parents, the tuition is much less than other private schools in the bay area and return of investment is far better.

school interest is the only money, not the true welfare of kids what they be learning, the academic is very poor- not worth putting your money to pay.

It's very good. Kids did not further their cultural values, unlike public schools. Depends what you need for your kid. If you need a cultural upbringing, you need a better school than public school

Two Words for the arrogant board "Money Hungry"

Great Teachers and they become excellent as you go in higher grades. My daughter is a shy person when put on a spot. The teacher not only identified it but also encouraged and motivated her to a great deal. Having sent her to another private school earlier, this was very comforting to me as a parent.Very cooperative staff. If you expect academic excellence with values and let the school do its administration just like one would do for any other private school, this one's for you!

If you would like for your child (1st grade) to be humiliated in front of his classmates because of a spot on his shirt or made stand in the corner because he couldn't stop giggling from a story they read earlier in story time. Then sure this school is for you , 80% of the teachers are heartless and will humiliate your child through out the day. Thanks to them your child will hate school forever. Thank God we made the right decision and left the school before my child needed a psychiatrist from the teachers bullying.

Very poor administration. Autocratic Board. I tried to attend the board meetings to express my points of views and was kicked out by the chair of the board despite most of the board members being absent from the meeting.

GIS used to be a good school with wonderful and caring teachers, an excellent Arabic & IS program and led by an exemplary principal. The school board fired 6 of their teachers just before Ramadan and their summer break starts. These teachers have credentials and their only mistake was they dare to speak up. It is sad to see GIS deteriorate in such a manner just because of some power hungry board members who wanted to implement things without consulting the educators. It is even sadder when you realized that they actually wanted to do something good but are ruthless, impatient and willing to achieve it at all cost including affecting the livelihoods of 8 staffs. This is a sad moment in GIS' 26 year history. And this could have all been avoided if they had worked together with the former principal, teachers and HODs and listened to their input. We can only pray that they will find good credentialed teachers and principal to replace those they fired (6 teachers+2 admin) and many that left the school including HODs and senior Arabic teachers. It is almost a mass exodus of teachers.
