I'm in my 4th year at Samueli and it a wonderful school in terms of outside opportunities, like internships and programs. Despite this, the academics are extremely poor, there's not enough rigor for advanced students, 4 AP Classes, 5 active clubs, poor school mentality, and the academics overall cover way less than a public school. I've brought this up multiple times to school administrators, with providing solutions and I've yet to see any changes. The teachers are fantastic! However, many of them are young and still learning how to teach so it can sometimes be at a disadvantage to the students. As for school culture, it is very minimal, there is a common mentality throughout the school where students are not eager to learn or participate -- it has affected my own motivation to go to this school. I really hope this school gets improved in the next coming years, but I doubt it will soon unless the administrators start implementing suggestions.

the school is awful, they make it seem like a good school but in reality its full of snakes and school fights.The staff excuses racism against black students and only accommodates the Hispanic and Asian population in this school.The counselors do nothing,this school is horrible.

My daughter is in her third year in Samueli. Both of us love the school. Is not a regular high school, there is a lot of parent and teacher involvement. The most that I like about the school is that is career oriented, they are giving them the tools to strive in college and\or their careers.

The campus is beautiful and continues to grow. The vision and intention of the school is what every school should strive to be. However, academics and student safety to second at Samueli as pro-nouns and sexual orientation take priority with teachers and staff. When questions are raised, the staff state that they are allowed by the State of California to do this and parents do not have the right to question it as it is private between the student and staff. Looks great on paper, horrible in person.
