Terrible school, organization was awful, when checking out my kid they would always call the wrong student cause they only need the kids name? My kid got physically hurt several times by the same couple of kids from day 1 til the last week of school and the answer they gave me was it's not bullying the kids just had a episode and my son was in his vicinity and they're getting more emotional support, but only my kid everytime. They put kids emotional health over physical AND my child's reading and writing went down consistently throughout the year. They give your kids candy every day and They will let your kid sit in the sleet cause "they can't see snow" while waiting for the teacher to get them for class, the list goes on and on. don't send your kid here!

During K-3 only one teacher treated my grandson with respect and encouragement, others either ignored or labeled him and made him feel less than intelligent. Same thing with other kids.

I think Silver Mesa is an adequate (not great) but adequate school for families with kids who have no problems. However, look elsewhere if your kids has disabilities but is higher functioning. They look the other way ALOT and the Resource Dept is more of a babysitting service. Also be careful about speaking up - it is easy to be blacklisted. Look elsewhere if you expect more than just the status quo.

I love this school. The staff and parents are incredibly friendly and helpful. They love the students and it shows in everything they do! The parents are involved in very positive ways from classroom help to fundraising to helping in various ways to make sure the school runs smoothly. The principal and teachers are caring and have high expectations of their students. The children play a bit part in this school as well in how respectful they are in adults and other students. I love this school!
