Awful. This school is terrible and going downhill. How many families school choice out or apply to charter schools? Look at the numbers. People want out because their kids are NOT thriving or even maintaining. This is a district with high levels of bullying from administrators, to teachers to the kids. It is the culture of Sandwich Public Schools.

Horrible! If you have a child with health or anxiety issues then don’t send them to this school. We moved here in the middle of trying to figure out why my son had been sick for years. Beginning of school and I called him in sick and they kept telling me it was fine. When he did go in the social worker was so aggressive that my son’s anxiety kicked in. Then they slapped us with Child Protective services. In the meantime we had tests run and started figuring out food allergies which meant he was feeling better. They held a meeting where they leveled horrible accusations and threatened to take him away. We hired an education expert who did some research into the school district. Local family services told us they had a reputation for this and someone high up in the legal system told us to move immediately. I was instructed by these same people to notify the school at the last moment that I was removing him. We moved back to NY. At the end of the school year I had a meeting with the principal and social worker of his new school who had been notified by Oak Ridge of our supposed evil doings. I was told that not only was my son a great student but they were removing the Sandwich allegations from his record as totally unfounded. He is now in 8th grade and a happy student who loves school. He still gets sick occasionally but that’s when certain food ingredients are not listed. Sandwich showed a lack of helpfulness, compassion and I believe that they put people in these situations to make busy work for themselves.

Great experience. Transitioned our son from private to public school here with ease. Couldn't have been happier!
