Something eery about the principal and teachers and how they handle things. Parents have experienced child endangerment issues on events where kids go missing and students physically harming other kids. Teachers choose to ignore and some pretend they don't see issues and have no concept of proper escalation. Questionable administrative practices, leaving kids with inadequate support to thrive. Don't be fooled by the high rating.

Fantastic school and great participation from parents in various activities. Teachers are very humble and ensure that students get required attention all the time.

I have been a part of the Neil Armstrong family for five years. Every teacher we have interacted with has been well, intelligent, compassionate, overall good person with the best intentions for our children. To put the principal open door policy for parents and great leadership team of educators and school staff. Also, I highly recommend the FOCUS program offered the school. It is one of the two alternate programs offered within the San Ramon school district. My children have flourished in the program.

Principal Lorna Monteith is slowly putting the FOCUS program to its death. Removing FOCUS program features year after year. Lorna Monteith is not a great team leader for the staff or parents.

The leader is seeming adversarial to the teachers and parents, The current principal (2015-16) is the center of the problem. The current principal wants to dismantle the trust and comfortable relationship of teacher by finding seeking ways to dismantle the FOCUS Program. Every year she is removing each feature one at a time to it slow closure of this program. FOCUS was established in 1983 by parents and teachers seeking to create a unique partnership in education. The actions of the current principal causes undue stress on all the teachers who look to her as a leader.

There is something not right about this school. It is the oddest thing to be at a school where the teachers are more concerned about following the rules than about the well being of the children. Don't get me wrong, rules are essential and should be enforced. However, the teachers and admin are almost anxious about making sure everyone is following rules to a T. It is the #1 thing on their mind. They completely ignore what it means to be a school community. It is sad that there is very little passion, love, and nurturing of the student. You feel it right away when you get on campus. There is very little smiling from the principal. She barely acknowledges students and makes no effort to know them or their names. Just plain odd and heartbreaking.

My child was pushed by a fellow student during PE. The PE instructor told my boy that he would tell the classroom instructor if it happens again. We went and told the principal what happened. In the end there was an investigation, and they had said that it was all a accident and he slipped on some sand. It is very sad that administrators go to great length to cover up and sweep problem underneath the carpet rather than facing problem head on and reprimanding the attacker for their actions. Teachers here do not really care about their students but rather the pensions of their daily jobs.

Distinguished public school that challenges children in a nurturing way. Big focus on learning. My daughter's evaluations when she had to repeat first grade were very accurate, and my son's report cards have also reflected his strengths and areas to improve. Multi-cultural school where everyone is respected. Through the years, a couple of staff members have not been favorites, but overall, a great school.

School focuses on just pushing students through rather than making sure they're actually learning. They're not honest with real issues with student's performance and would rather just push the issues under the rug until its no longer their problem. Move them down the road and let someone else deal with them. Very disappointing that teaches would rather pass students through to keep a clean face/record than to tackle performance issues themselves. This just ends up exposing the teacher's weakness and lack of true teaching ability. Very unfortunate.
