Our son is in TK at Assumption School and we are really happy! We were nervous entering the elementary school scene, but the community here has been warm and inviting. Even in TK ,our son has Spanish, Music, and Art classes. The teachers provide comprehensive reviews of both academic and social/emotional development. There are tons of extracurriculars and the parent community is super engaged.

We came to Assumption School in 3rd grade after leaving another private school and from the first moments, we knew Assumption was different. Assumption offered things our other school lacked and they were built into the curriculum rather. Our child had art, music, and Spanish classes from day one at Assumption. Assumption School excels in preparation for their students to get into the high schools of their choice. They have rigorous academics, sports, and arts programs for the students to participate in. Now as a middle school parent, I have to say, I am glad we chose Assumption School. My child continues to grow academically, emotionally, and creatively. We know our child is ready to transition into her high school of choice as she's met or will meet all admission requirements before leaving Assumption.

Our son has attended Assumption for 4 years. We love how engaged the community is. The administration and faculty are warm and welcoming and genuinely care about allThe students. We appreciate the academic focus, as well as the citizenship focus. Our son and ourselves as parents have made wonderful connections with others at this school. We recommend it to others in our community.

Our son is currently a 1st time 6th grader at Asumption. It has exceeded our expectations with curriculum as well as providing leadership skills in the process. My advisement is to make an appointment and speak with the staff .

This is an all-around great school. The community is very strong. The parents, kids, and teachers love eachother. I've spent 5 years at this school so far. My oldest child is graduating in 2022. A few reasons why this is a 5-star school:0. SAFE1. Kids went back to school during the pandemic [safety plan was in place QUICKLY to resume school]2. The principal was previously the 8th-grade teacher for years, now she's been holding down the school 3. When financials are tough, they will do everything possible to keep you enrolled by giving aid4. Great discount with multiple children5. All our 3 children are testing 1-2 years above their grade There are more reasons, tour the school and you'll see for yourself....

Assumption is a wonderful community that actively supports its students and families. Our kids have made rapid improvement in the classroom since the beginning of the academic year. We are more than happy to recommend this school and community.

Wonderful kindergarten teacher Ms Scherer. Our daughter loves her so much. This community has done an amazing job with Covid and I hope they continue to put our children first and keep them even safer than the minimum standard.

Great learning environment with a diverse and supportive community of teachers, parents and community members, ensuring life long learners for its students, a great school to educate your child's mind, body and spirit!

Our family absolutely loves this school, and we have been thrilled to find this gem in San Leandro. The educators and the parents we have met have been extremely supportive. We are lucky to have 2 administrators per class (a Teacher and TA) and the staff is absolutely committed to making sure each child thrives. Not only is our son excelling in reading and in math, he is expressing a social conscience that goes beyond his years. We expected this school to excel in academics (it is a Catholic school education- yet not exclusive to Catholics) but we did not expect the extra level of education that expresses kindness, compassion, leadership, and responsible citizenship in this dynamic and diverse community.

The principal is doing a poor job of running the school. He chooses to focus budget on things to make the school look good (and himself) on paper, rather than hiring quality teachers and promoting a good environment for the kids. He is treating his job as a stepping stone to a higher up position in the diocese by identifying a couple of milestones and pointing the schools money and energy to those items so that he can advance his career.Because of this misdirection, the school has been losing students at an alarming rate. Each kindergarten class is smaller than the one before it. If the school keeps shrinking at the rate that it has been, I wouldn't be surprised if the school closes.Anyhow, I put my money where my mouth is and pulled my kids out of this school.

The new principal has weakened curriculum and standards. The office managers are very unhelpful and VERY RUDE! The school has been on a steady decline since the new principal arrived. It is not the same school as it was 4+ years ago.

The new principal is an excellent addition to the school. He comes with a strong reputation for engaging parents and faculty to share responsibility for nurturing and educating students. This is our 6th year at the school and we are looking forward to another solid academic year at Assumption.

There will be a new principal next year along with math and English teacher YEAH! The Spanish class needs to be redone.

Assumption is an outstanding school with a robust, dedicated staff and a diverse population of students that are happy and sell adjusted. I have a gap in ages between my older children and my younger children. I took the chance to re-review the schools in the area when it was time for the younger set to start. Assumption is head a shoulders above others. While no school is perfect, Assumption is great in the categories that matter most to me: safe, caring, religiously based school that is academically rigorous. Come check it out for yourself on January 26, 2014 at the Open House.

Fabulous school. I have three children at the school and have been very impressed with the leadership and teachers. The principal is not afraid to make change and has upgraded the curriculum across the board in recent years. The education and standards are rigorous, but the school also focuses on building character and emphasizes Catholic values. There is an active parent community as well. Overall, very happy with the school.

We sent both our children to Assumption from Kindergarden through eighth grade. They received a great education and have excelled in high school both educationally and morally. If you are looking for a quality education for your children along with a sense of community this is the place for you.

I have been so very pleased with the way that Assumption emphasizes strong academics and values/character. Plus, the family community is incredibly strong, supportive, and involved. My kids have thrived here from the start! Their teachers have been impressive all have held the kids to very high academic and behavioral standards. I have appreciated the strong math and science curriculums, which my kids have found challenging and rewarding. Recently, the principal instituted a program requiring all students to perform some level of community service, which for my children has been a truly character- and community-building experience. This school is ensuring that my children develop into citizens of the world!

Attending Assumption School has been a great experience for my child. The teachers treat each student as an individual and are an extremely dedicated group of educators. Through a rich and diverse curriculum, children flourish in this environment. My child is not only learning what she needs to academically, she is developing an amazing sense of self worth. I am grateful for Assumption school and appreciate the dedication of the principal and staff. I feel very fortunate to have found Assumption School.
