My daughter is in the 4th grade at Oak Ridge. We've had an amazing experience and have liked all 5 teachers that they've had. My daughter loves the school and is happy to go and learn. Teachers and the Principal are accessible. The school and staff are friendly with us and the parents participating in the home and school club create an atmosphere. I don't understand the extremely negative recent reviews, but I'm hoping it's the 1 star and 5 star dichotomy of most reviews. I can also understand parents trying to protect their kids from bad experiences. However, I feel like this school is a great experience and I think most people would love sending their kids here.

I wouldn’t recommend going here. The teachers and principal talk about how great they are and how cool the school is and i waited all year for it to be fun but it wasn’t. Full of bullies and mean yard duties. I don’t have a favorite teacher here.

Mrs Tsang only cares about awards and not her students. She is failing all of them especially with some of these teachers. Heard many aren’t even holding teaching credentials. They look down their noses at the families and are overheard talking about them at their happy hours. The pictures online just have kids on computers. Failure. Go back to singing songs in Kindergarten.

Oak Ridge Elementary is a great school ! Very low turn over of staff and every single one of the teacher is very sweet, polite and respectful to the parents and the kids. The kids are there for long hours and they always have somethings for them to do and they treat them very well. I will forever be grateful with Oak Ridge Elementary School and the staff.

My experience with Oakridge elementary school has been nothing short of amazing. My son has been there 2 years now- However our first year was completed remotely due to the pandemic. As a result, My son was struggling to stay afloat the following year. He lost one of the most important years of elementary school - fist grade. Simply because he couldn’t focus at home learning remotely. He struggled everyday to read and write. He went into 2nd grade not knowing how to read the word “the” and couldn’t write a single letter. His 2nd grade teacher deserves the “most altruistic, persistent, empathetic, resilient, and compassionate” award. Ms. Maria Filipe REFUSED to give up on him and it was that push for success, and fight for my sons education that makes a true educator. This is my sons last week in her class, and now he is reading, and writing! Every time he reads a book to me, I can’t help but smile thinking of Ms. Filipe and her drive to make her students be the best they can be. In an effort to get additional support for my son, I reached out to the IEP program with the assistance of Ms. Filipe to see if he would qualify. When I met with the principle of Oakridge, along with other staff members I was so impressed with every single one of them. Mrs. Sandy Sanchez, and the school psychologist Mrs. Ashley Pineda we’re both nothing short of amazing as well. Additionally, you can see and feel the passion they all have for their jobs and their students. It’s truly remarkable and genuine. With that being said, I highly recommend Oakridge to everyone because it truly is a 5 star school.

This school is an example of wokeness. Since Mrs. Signh left and the new principal took over, the school chose to focus on LGBTQ, BLM, and SJW instead of reading, math, and science. Teachers have posters on the wall to show this.

I have two children at Oak Ridge, a kindergartener and a 3rd grader, so far my children have had a great experience, the teachers are hard working, caring, and professional. One of the best things about this school is the parent involvement! Parents run an art program, the k-1 P.E. Program and are active as room parents and on fund raisers. I really think the parents and teachers working together helps to make Oak Ridge a great community to be a part of!
