Latimer is our neighborhood school. The teachers are enthusiastic, intelligent and kind. The staff work hard to help everyone feel welcome. It has a strong Spanish and Japanese community. The library works hard to support these and other languages. Leveled groups are used throughout the school to help students at all levels.

This is a very positive environment for the students. The combination of pbl (project based learning) and steam (emphasizes on Sciences, Technologies, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) works wonders. The teachers and staff are dedicated to their mission, and the kids love them.It results in a very good academic level, while still enriching well rounded students.

Average I think, academic at time we looked more into steam and enjoyment, at least in kindergarten. We believe it’s a good public school compare to many others. Every child is different and for our child parent participation school works much better. We are more of whole child philosophy than academic success as it felt in this school as the main drive.

I am soo happy about this school. I had some concerns when we joined because of the grade, but looking back it's the best decision i took! Its a small family school that emphasizes values and doesn't compromise the academics. Amazing staff!!

We are not returning to the school. My child is in the third grade and there was not enough Project Based Learning and no STEAM. We came form another school that was more challenging academically and was promised our child would be challenged. Instead he was bored and his previous skills regressed. He used to love going to school, but now hates it. All there was was asking for money ALL THE TIME and not enough learning experiences to show for it. I felt very shut out as a parent. I volunteered 10 hr a week at my child's last school.

I really enjoy the positive learning environment provided by the staff and parents. The project-base learning and the "steam" centered teaching make learning fun and motivating for students!

Overall, the majority of the staff goes above and beyond what is required. They make extra efforts to help students when needed, provide extra challenges for those that want it and engaged in all events at the school or for the school. The school has been only open for 3 years and you can see how the staff enthusiasm makes Latimer a great place for a child to thrive.

The School and staff are AMAZING! we had a lot of concerns before sending our 2 boys here, but we have been very positively surprised from every perspective. 2 teachers that have been great are Mrs Bell and Mr Thorner as well as the Principle Nancy!

Newly opened neighborhood school with excellent teachers and staff. Principal Nancy Cisler is accessible and responsive. The student body is diverse, and we've met many nice kids/families here. Lots of parent volunteer opportunities.

The rating of Latimer on this site is not an accurate reflection of the this school. This is a new school that is still growing. In fact, Latimer has made tremendous growth in test scores from 2015 to 2016. Test results are not the only measurement that should be used to rate a school, especially for one that is so new. The teachers and staff at Latimer are spectacular! We have been at other schools in the area and another state and by far Latimer has the BEST teachers. They are dedicated and care about the success of all their students. The teachers are innovated and not afraid to try something new. They communicate with the parents and provide individualized learning when appropriate. The principal, Nancy Cisler, is very hands on and takes time to answer questions from parents. She is visible on campus throughout the day. I’ve even seen her playing Foursquare at recess with a group of 5th graders. My children feel welcomed and loved at Latimer. The front office staff is also extremely friendly and helpful.
