It's great that it's considered a small school and all, but the school lacks diversity. The school administration staff seems to care about the reputation of the school, but doesn't handle internal conflict well. Resulting in not being fully supportive with student needs to remedy the underlying issues. As a parent, it felt cold like with corporate jargons trying to come to a middle ground with some of the staff members, especially with the principal and assistant principal.A handful of their teachers and Beacon After School program + staff is the best part of what this school offers.

My son is a current 6th grader at Francisco and is thriving - he can’t wait to get to school each day. His teachers are amazing; they’re so supportive, engaging, dedicated, and energetic. The wide variety of clubs offered to students is exciting - there is something (lot of somethings, really) for everyone. Francisco’s principal and vice principal are very present and supportive of staff and parents alike, and are tireless advocates for all students. Our family is thrilled to be a part of the Francisco community and delighted to see our son so happy and enthralled with school.

Both of my children have had a very positive experience at Francisco; the athletic program, lunchtime clubs, field trips, and extracurriculars round out the strong academics and have greatly enriched their school experience. But most of all, the extraordinary teachers and faculty have ushered them through the sometimes challenging middle school years and prepared them --academically, socially, and emotionally -- for high school. Our elder child is now thriving in high school, having had her choice of schools to attend. We credit the FMS experience with her success and are pleased to see our younger child having the same positive academic and social experience at Francisco.

The teachers and staff are very good but the students are not very nice.

I am looking for a grate middle school for my child. The location is hard to parking but the place is save.

This is the best school ever. I had so much fun in this school. The fun parts were having so many activites and camping and other lunch games. And the p.e department has taught kids to play sports so well that they won so many awards

Small school w/ engage and caring staff. In sixth grade, all students are given a planner and taught how to use it. 100% of the teachers use school loop. In sixth grade, there is block scheduling with one teacher for math/science class and a different teacher for language arts/social studies class. In science, they read and have assignments from the newspaper "weather page." They study the scientific method and developed and documented science experiments. The 6th grade goes to the Headlands Institute overnight which is educational, fun and cohesive class experience. The principal parked cars during Fleet Week to pay for it! In 7th grade science, they study biology and genetics. On Halloween they made edible cell models (watermelon with gummy worms, m&ms, etc representing all the basic parts of the cell). Also frog dissection. There will be 3 new science labs soon. In 7th grade LA, they combine lit. w/ social studies - midieval times around the world; reading classic ancient Greek tales, Arabian Nights & King Arthur. They write formal essays, create skits and make posters. Similar to 6th grade. In PE students learn life-long exercise lessons like how to ride a bike!
