I have two children in Highlands and believe that this school is giving them a great education and growth in their faith. The programs there are incredible and are great for children with all personalities. I love getting to hear about my children's day, they are excited to tell me about the fun things they have learned and the friends that they meet. The community at HCS is amazing and welcoming. I also love being able to be involved with the classes and school trips. I highly recommend Highlands to all.

I can't imagine anyone could rate this school anything but great. When considering the enormously wide range of what it offers, from science, athletics and the arts, it is rare to find a school that offers so many opportunities and experiences. The talented and dedicated teachers are nothing short of amazing. Thank you Highlands for making such a difference in my life! Class of 20114

My 2 kids graduated from Highlands. Fairly speaking, it is not a bad school but has extra miles to go in order to be excellent. Academically it is mediocre. Curriculum is advance from Preschool to 3rd grade. After that, it matches most other schools. Teacher qualities are uneven. Some teachers enjoy teaching and are caring. Some are just doing a job. Some are irresponsible and not even qualified to be a teacher. The best teacher my kids had was Mr. Mozzone, who should be an example for all other teachers. However, every school has good teachers and bad teachers which is normal. At least Highlands prepared my kids adequately for the rigorous and challenging nature of the high school my kids are attending. The Christianity they instilled in my kids elevated their moral and behavioral standards that I can really see the difference between them and the kids from secular schools. Highlands also has some good programs like annual ACSI math Olympic, Music Festival, Speech Meet, and Art Festival. After all, parents, don't count your kid's education solely on the school. No matter which school he/she attends, your kid's success largely depends on your involvement and dedication.

I am a previous student of highlands. I have attended this school from preschool to 8th grade. Honestly I'll admit I had some teachers who were very sweet and caring. However, there are other teachers who should not even be teaching. The teachers had favoritism for certain students and acted as if they were teenagers. Some teachers would verbally tell students how they disliked them or make fun of students in front of their face. For instance my classmate was a little heavier and the teacher would tell her that she looked like Raven Symone when she was fat. Some teachers would just switch from being an English to Math teacher and the whole class would often fail a test because the teacher could not teach correctly. The administration is very close with the staff so when you complain about them nothing is done and it is always said to be a misunderstanding. I was not able to run for student council president because the teachers choose which students are able to run and they usually choose the student who is one of their favorites. All in all I would say I only stayed because of my friends but the teachers are completely unprofessional and the curriculum is poor at best.

I was a student at Highlands from preschool to eighth grade. While throughout my eleven years at this school I learned some valuable lessons and created a few important relationships with people, I found there to be unacceptable flaws for a school that claims to be a loving Christian environment and academically outstanding. I thank Highlands for providing me with my religious foundation, but in my opinion, some of the teachers did not exhibit Christian-like qualities. These teachers would teach Biblical principles, but at the same time, they would play favorites with the students, unnecessarily yell at the students, and more. At times they would even make fun of students in a "joking" manner, unaware that their comments were actually hurtful. Although I only saw a few teachers act in this way, any complaints made to administration did not change or penalize the teachers for their actions. In addition, I found that several teachers were not qualified to teach the subjects that they were teaching, therefore resulting in subpar learning for the students. I enjoyed some of my experiences at Highlands, but overall I do not believe it lives up to its claims or others' expectations.

Our 2 kids 7 & 5 yrs old started their preschool here in Highlands Christian Schools, San Bruno, CA. My 7 yrs old is now in grade 2 & my 5 in kinder college. At preschool they are not only learning biblical principles but also academically excellent, and learning how to read with comprehension with awareness of their surroundings, respecting others and appreciating as well as valuing even tiny things around. Their math subject is far advance. She is continually forming a habit, encouraged in her class, to do homework every night and study. She likes reading a lot especially encyclopedia. My 5 yrs old reads so well, with comprehension, and understands what's going on around us. They really love their school and included always in their prayers that God will help them stay in their school until high school.

Highlands Christian School is a an outstanding school on many accounts. The education level is accelerated and enriching. I see is vast difference between my daughter and other kids who do not attend Highlands, especially her broad vocabulary. The curriculum is much more advanced than I could remember and we couldn't be more pleased. Our daughter is very happy at the school and that is extremely important.

Highlands is a great school. My Kids started in Highlands since preschool and they started reading right away. My kids love Highlands and wouldn't want to consider looking for other schools. Although this school is highly academic and they have lots of projects that parents need to be involved, I would still consider it a great institution and would still refer it to other parents. Their Christian values and Christian education is what I love the most.

I really like Highlands Christian School because the commitment of the teachers to teach the children about life lessons and social awareness are very evident in their teaching skills. I believe that the teachers are very gifted in being able to put the Christian religion and Jesus and relating bible lessons to life lessons are very important and I am very impressed with how they work with the children.

Highland School is best the very best school I started my daughter when she's 3 years old until now . Highland school is 1 year ahead to grade level my daughter is kindergarten now going to first grade she learn a lot academic class is very good , enjoy being In school staying in extended care is awesome a lot of activity all the time and having a lot of good friends. Staying in highland is like a family all the teacher are very nice, easy to talk to informing the parents right away when something happen to the kids . I love most my daughter know a lot of bible verses and being close to Jesus knowing a lot of story about him and their everyday worship to god before the class begin. Eating healthy food and very convenient when you dropping in the school they have a drive thru that make my life more easy specially if your work far and start early like me it helps . And during summer they have summer camp and extended care available all year long except some holidays. We love and like this school the best..........

Highlands Christian Schools is a wonderful, well-rounded school. I went to school here: Preschool to 8th grade. It is exciting to work with the staff I have grown-up with. I am honored and believe-in all this school has to offer.

I have attended Highlands from preschool until 8th grade and I can tell you that they offer an exceptional quality of education for two reasons: 1) The curriculum truly challenges its students early on so that I was not only ahead academically, but also learned how to face the various challenges of school and life and to overcome them. 2) The teachers are strict when they need to be in order to help its students grow, but they are also extremely nice, personable, and supportive such that they continuously encouraged me to meet the challenges before me, gave me the basic tools I would need to figure out how to overcome various challenges, and created an environment that encourages students not to give up no matter how hard the struggle to overcome the challenges of school and life. Because of the firm foundation that Highlands prepared me with early on, I succeeded in high school and am thriving in college as a double major at the top public university in the US. Highlands not only gave me a strong academic foundation, but also study skills, life skills, hardworking qualities and values, and the character of perseverance that have helped me tackle the challenges of life and succeed.

My daughter loves the pre-school! We started when she was 18 months old. Now she is 3 years and 2 months. She is way advanced being able to count to 100, sing ABC's, basic phonics, color in the lines, draw her baby brother, sing several songs, knows all shapes and colors, etc. She has 2 best friends she always hugs and kisses when saying good bye. So cute!! I checked out several pre-schools in the area before choosing Highlands but none compared. I would highly recommend sending your child.

If you want your child to be called pathetic, send your kid here. No joke. The teachers are hostile toward the children. It's very odd. I can't wait for the school year to end so I can transfer my child. The teachers have no patience with the children and act as if they do not like children. It is beyond me why they chose this profession. And good luck getting anywhere reporting to the head administrator. She never responds or when she does, it is to defend the teachers so it is pointless.

Highlands Christian Schools is a blessing for our daughter. My spouse and I are very busy, and we could not nurture our child s excellence and support her growth by ourselves. Thus, Highlands is a blessing for the entire family. Highlands is a learning center that becomes the heart of multiple community interactions. These interactions became a web of support for San Bruno families during the aftermath of the fire last year. Highlands is a place where we celebrate the best of our children, families and the rich diversity of our region. We are blessed and thank the wonderful teachers that help us nurture our daughter: Mr. Ahkiong, Mrs. Bishop, Mrs. Bosuchult, Mrs. Castillo, Mrs. Valencia and Se orita Walker. We thank the tireless Extended Care team who make it possible for us to work while our children do their homework with Mr. Alex, and learn new arts and crafts skills with Mrs. Bonnie. We thank the administration for their vision and leadership. We pray that God will continue to give all of you the wisdom and strength to be a pillar for our community. Bendiciones!
