This is our first year at sacred heart and couldn’t be happier! I was a little worried at first with Covid lingering around, but they did everything they could to keep our child safe and excited to come to school at the same time. With our child being in Kindergarten, we knew this was a critical year for learning how to read and write. The classes are the perfect size so that each student can have that 1 on 1 time that they deserve. The teachers did an amazing job to keep the atmosphere safe and fun. My child has made so many friends that will hopefully grow with him for years to come. I feel confident that this school will not only help my child succeed in school, but also succeed in life.

When I say that Sacred Heart has exceeded my wildest expectations, I truly mean it. In less than a year, this school has helped mold my child into a thoughtful, respectful, God-loving little boy. My heart broke at the thought of sending my son to Kindergarten during a time so full of unknowns and fear, but SHCS was beyond wonderful in ensuring my son’s education, social and spiritual development were nurtured. Teachers and staff are hard-working, compassionate individuals who would give the shirts of their back to care for our kids. They wear many hats and often take on extra responsibility so students have access to a variety of clubs, sports, and activities to enrich their mind, body, and soul. I am impressed by the exceptional communication and constant updates from administration. I never feel out of the loop when it comes to my child and am appreciative of the extra effort to keep parents informed. My mind is at ease knowing he is in good hands at Sacred Heart. Also, I must mention that Father John is one of a kind! I couldn’t ask for a better role-model and spiritual leader to introduce my son to religion in a positive, uplifting environment. My husbands family has been enrolled at Sacred Heart for decades and I can say we are proud to continue that tradition with our children. If you are even thinking about sending your child to private school, give the office a call and take a tour. You will not regret becoming part of the Sacred Heart family!

We researched a large number of schools for our kids, including charter schools, private schools, and other parochial schools. We chose Sacred Heart because of their small class sizes and individualized attention to each student. Many schools we looked at focused on the use of technology but to a fault. Sacred Heart balances the use of technology with the need to actively engage students in the learning process. The teachers at Sacred Heart are amazing human beings and always make themselves available to answer questions or offer additional assistance to students. Their Christian-based environment fosters learning beyond the classroom with emotional growth and well being. As COVID struck in early 2020, they mobilized a temporary plan within 24 hours and had a long term plan within 2 weeks. Teachers and staff were available nearly immediately with student questions and concerns. They re-opened safely with full time instruction for the Fall, 2020 school year with very few interruptions. They offer a wide array of sports programs and many programs even provide for younger students (Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten) to participate. The school offers an after-school program that keeps kids safe and active. Whether it is helping with homework, getting kids ready and to their sports practices on campus, or just getting outside for some fresh air, the kids are well taken care of until picked up from after school care. I encourage people to take a look at all the campus has to offer and schedule a tour with the school!

My granddaughter has attended Sacred Heart for Kindergarten and First grade. Kindergarten was wonderful. The teachers are caring, knowledgeable, and experienced. First grade has been beyond my expectations during this pandemic. The COVID planning was clearly explained. The implementation of the plan was exceptional. The teacher is enthusiastic and concerned about every student. She is knowledgeable and presents the lessons in away that is easy for the children to grasp. The school as a whole is a community that cares for each other. The entire school begins the day together in morning assembly that focuses on prayer. Our Catholic faith is lived and prayed throughout the day. We plan on our granddaughter attending Sacred Heart through the 8th grade.

Sacred Heart Catholic School has provided my children with an outstanding education while teaching them the importance of personal responsibility and being a good person. I am extremely pleased with how Sacred Heart prepared my son for high school. He is currently a junior and has had much academic and athletic success. I also love the number of activities, sports, clubs and extra-curriculars the school provides for my daughter who is in the 5th grade. There is truly something for everyone: track, co-ed volleyball, Garden Club, Lego Club, etc. and the list goes on and on. SHCS belongs to a strong Catholic athletic Conference which provides a competitive yet sportsmanlike atmosphere for them to learn about the important life lessons outside of the classroom. We have never doubted our decision in choosing Sacred Heart Catholic School.

I've had three children graduate from Sacred Heart and I'm so grateful for everything my children learned while attending this amazing school. Not only are my children prepared to enter high school academically, they are also prepared emotionally and socially. I'm grateful for the foundation of faith they learned while at Sacred Heart. No matter how hard life can be, my kids always know they have their faith to turn to for help.

I have taught at Sacred Heart since 2001. Not only do we help our students grow academically, but also spiritually. We are a family at Sacred Heart, and I feel blessed to be a part of it.

Our family has been a part of the Sacred Heart School family for many years. Most recently, we have been so impressed with the quality of teachers, curriculum, staff and parents. The students consistently have high achievement in standardized test scores as compared to peers. But as important, our children have grown and learned about the world from a perspective of discipline, self-control and reflection; and in a warm light of a Christian environment. There are several other reasons to love Sacred Heart including: solid sports supported by a long standing and very competitive conference which includes schools from the Triad area; an amazing campus with over 100 acres of farm, forest, rivers, hiking/walking trails, etc., that are far removed from the busy city environment, while still being a very convenient location; many clubs and groups that are too numerous to name, but include 4H, National Honors Society, Choir, Drama and many, many more. Finally, when we examine all the benefits of Sacred Heart and the cost benefit with its tuition being below other private schools, we feel very fortunate and grateful for this wonderful asset right here in Salisbury.

My family has been a part of the Sacred Heart family going on 7 years. Sacred Heart provides an excellent foundation for the whole child including body, mind, and eternal soul. The new administration as well as the teachers, both seasoned and new, are highly qualified and excited about education. Students are academically challenged and taught to be mindful citizens and volunteers. We are so grateful for this school and it's positive, safe, and nurturing environment!

Sacred Heart has really been a blessing to us. All of our children have attended or are currently attending K-8, and while each experience has been unique, the common thread is that my children have grown spiritually and academically in ways that exceeded any expectations I had. Sacred Heart not only prepared my kids for high school and college, but their professors are constantly impressed with the academic and community achievements of Sacred Heart alumni. More than anything, it is home away from home for my kids. They truly love their friends, teachers, and Sacred Heart community. I have been blessed to volunteer and substitute teach at the school, and I can say I truly love the faculty and children, and am grateful for our time at this wonderful school.

I have been blessed to send all three of my sons to Sacred Heart. They have grown into such fine young men, grounded in faith with a real sense of responsibility and accountability for their actions and their lives. I know that they received a super foundation in academics - PreK through 8th grades. They entered into public high school well prepared - joining honors and AP classes with no difficulties. They also had no trouble finding friends and adjusted well socially to the high school scene. They were grounded in WHOSE they were and had a good sense of right and wrong - making more wise choices than not. During their years at Sacred Heart, I feel very fortunate that they had such strong and caring role models and teachers. The pastoral staff was such an asset in helping me as a parent navigate through raising all boys. Please make no mistake - my boys were not perfectly behaved everyday and I had to make a few trips over the years to the Principal's office. I always felt that the administrative staff was fair, non-judgemental and truly helpful. For me, what set Sacred Heart apart from other private options that I could have chosen...This school stands the test of time, over 135 years of educating children, with a long history of successful students who really have a solid faith, who stand out as community leaders, who were very successful in their high school and college years and who became responsible adults willing to serve their families, community and church. So glad to be on the other side with grown children...knowing that absolutely Sacred Heart was the right choice!

Sure the academics is good but the environment is bad. Why? Most of the people are rich, snobby, spoiled brats. There are some nice people there, but there are so many people who bully kids because of their looks and stuff like in public school, but like most cases of bullying the teacher's don't know. One girl called another girl the N word. That's not a thing to say in a Catholic school, but there is a lot of peer pressure at this school. People change a lot at this school because of peer pressure. There are good teachers, but some of them are mean and strict. One teacher I remember would yell at the students and pull students down. That's not how you encourage kids to do better. That's hurting them. There are good things at this school like the lunch, but boy, aren't there a lot of bad things. BE WARNED.

Our family has multiple students at SHCS. The teachers are second to none and I feel strongly that our children will be academically prepared to be successful in the future. Academics are only a smart part of what makes this school so great. Our children are also being spiritually prepared to go out into the world. We love that our children attend weekly Masses with their classmates and teachers, pray together every morning and afternoon, and see Priests and other religious members in the hallways everyday. I applaud the wonderful teachers for not only being great in the classroom, but also being role models outside of the classroom.

Let's be realistic, this school does not promote the best atmosphere. As a matter of fact it very closely resembles that of the public school system. The only benefit my child receives from going to Sacred Heart Catholic School is religion. I've noticed that a few teachers carry the wait of the school. The front office is extremely unprofessional and lack the intestinal fortitude to do the right thing when met with adversity. The candor responses that were previously posted by other parents is not an accurate depiction of what is going on in our school. However, I believe with the proper leadership Sacred Heart has the platform to be an outstanding Christian School, but it currently lacks candor, honor, and above all loyalty to its staff and families. In short, the school is in dire straights of leadership and desperately needs an ecliptic group of individuals to help spearhead the future of Sacred Heart Catholic School.

This school has a family atmosphere that has each child's best interest at heart. The education and values my children are receiving at this school could not be better.

I have been a part of this school for many years. I went to school here and now my children attend this school. The academic experience rooted in Catholic faith makes this school second-to-none.

We have had 4 kids go to this school. We knew it was a great school. We had that confirmed when our oldest not only tested into the highest Math and English classes in a great Catholic High School but is also getting outstanding grades in those classes.

I have several children many years apart who have attended SHCS. At one time SHCS was a good school, but the current administration has created an environment where incompetence, bullying and nepotism flourishes while integrity, character and academic standards have fallen to an all time low. The current administration does not have the education or experience necessary to provide true leadership. The teachers are put in a very difficult situation with classroom overcrowding, lack of textbooks, and zero guidance from the administration. Parent/teacher meetings are discouraged making it impossible to have any sort of meaningful dialogue between parents and teachers. Bullying, on all levels, has become rampant. Teachers are permitted to call students stupid or slow and the principle claims that this is just teasing. Hidden fees, such as a $100 mandatory lottery ticket purchase, are common. The office staff is simply rude. This is the same staff the school has had for years so I blame the current administration for not requiring more professional behavior. From the outside the school looks wonderful, but it is a façade, all show with very little substance. Unfortunately the public schools in the area are not consistent in providing quality education so parents are left with few educational options.

I have to say that this school is overrated. After looking for a school for our child , we chose a private education, due to bad public schools in the area. The class sizes are as large or larger than the public schools. It seems that they just care about getting more children in the classrooms and entertaining them with extracurricular activities while sacrificing time for education. Bullying is one of the issues that the principal and staff do not want to acknowledge. I know of several cases of bullying. The bullying of my child was brought to the staff's attention on more than one occasion but was never properly handled by the principal or staff. Instead, my child was asked by her teacher why she can not "fix" things by herself, my child was 5 at that time. Based on my experience you will do fine in this school if you are part of the inner circle and follow the herd. I know many people are disappointed with this school, however, they do not say a thing because they do not have another school choice.
