    I have so much respect and admiration for the teachers, counselors, and staff at Bates. We had an amazing first year and were so pleasantly surprised, given the bad press Salem has received in the past. Mr. M is an incredible principal and impresses me every day with his love for his work and his love for those kids. He's going to take that school to even greater places!

    Many of our Salem friends decided to move or put their kids into private schools. We decided for public, we wanted to support our community and see it grow. Our daughter is now going into 4th grade at Bates and she loves it. We love it. The teachers are fantastic and dedicated to each and every student. The principal is outside every morning greeting each student by name and engaging with parents. The staff and faculty make it a great and safe community that my wife and I were looking for.

    It has tremendous reading and arts programs....a caring principal and extremely dedicated teachers.
