We are active duty military and have been stationed here for 4 years. Our daughter has gone through pre-K, kindergarten and 1st grade here and all three years have been wonderful.

SLES has truly been family to us. The staff and teachers there care about their students and it shows. Our principal cares about learning but also knows that fun is needed in order to thrive in the classroom at this age group. We are so thankful for SLES and all they’ve done for our family.

I will be extremely happy when my daughter gets out of this school this coming summer

This school teaches the test. It is so frustrating that my son can answer the math question but not explain how he found the answer. If I give him a problem I create he simply cannot answer it. And I do not like that I cannot access my child while they are in school. As his parent if I want to see him, the school should let me. On the plus side, they have a wonderful,playground that my child loves to play on. They also try problem resolution with the children if they have issues with each other. They are some positives but teaching the test flunks them for me

My daughter completed K-5 at SLES, and her & I loved the experience. She had AMAZING teachers& made great friends. The experiences she had allowed her to learn and grow as a person, and I will am so happy she started her education at such a great school.

I have a daughter in the third grade and a son in the first grade. St. Leonard is a wonderful school. One of the best elementary schools in Calvert County.

This school is wonderful! My daughter is in 1st grade and she loves going to school everyday. From the counselor to the teachers to the volunteers you could not ask for more professional people. They are interested in keeping the kids safe and happy! Great job St. Leonard Elementary!!
