This school has been a god send to my children!! I have two boys in the same grade that attend this school. Each with their own individual needs. One having type 1 diabetes and one with a learning disability. Let me start with the one with type 1 diabetes. The love and care he has received from Ms. Ryan has been over and beyond!! She has helped him every step of the way (being a newly diagnosed type 1. They have been to many schools but have never had a nurse become so special to them. My other boy with the learning disability has grown so much since entering this school. All the other schools he had been in seemed to just pass him through or say he had “behavioral issues” he entered this school in 2nd grade and had the pleasure of being in and. Kirby’s class not only in 2nd but third grade as well. She took time with him and tried to understand him and how she could help. After having such a great teacher for those 2 years I was scared of what 4th grade would bring and we were blessed beyond words to have him go to Ms. Curry’s classroom. She has also been a god send for him!! She has done everything in her power to make sure my child succeeded and he has!! He is more confident and still growing by the day!! I’m sad to say this will be the last year in this school as it has been a miracle for my family!! Lewis and Clark is amazing and if you’re looking for a great school for your child look no further this is what you’ve been looking for!!

Lewis and Clark elementary school is a great school and I wish the middle and high school could be as great as LCES.

This is the third year my daughter has attended this school. Each year she has been blessed with an engaged and committed teacher. My daughter is blossoming at this school. One of the highlights of my day is seeing her exit my van during car pool drop off where she is greeted by warm smiles, hugs, and high fives as the staff assisting the children out of the cars. This morning was a spirit day and they were dancing and truly welcoming the kids to there day of learning. This school may currently be rated as a 6 but its almost perfect for us.

My child is having a great experience this year. She loves her teacher, Mrs. Butzner, and I feel she is caring and competent. She is attentive to the students' needs, and my daughter's education has been well nurtured this year. We also can't say enough good things about the gifted specialist, Ms. Spiegel. My daughter has the ultimate role models for teachers this year and I couldn't be more pleased. Her kindergarten experience was not as positive, and I regret not having her reassigned to a teacher who was more suited to meet her needs. The principal, Ms. Aref, is responsive to parents, and I really like her. Overall we have had a really good experience at Lewis and Clark.

The new principal is awful. She has no social skills, is rude and does not love children. What ever happened to the last principal? He was awesome and knew how to run a school and interact with people.

My son has gone to this school for 2 years now, I was hoping this year would be better than last, but No. They require a ridiculously long list of school supplies. What about the parents that cant afford to get all that stuff? The other thing about this school is the overall lack of communication between parent and teachers. My son hasnt been feeling well this week, but he seemed to be feeling a little better this morning and he wanted to go to school. I want to encourage him to like, and want to go school, so I let him go. Although I do regret it now, why? Because when my child got home you could obviously tell he wasnt feeling good. I asked him if he told his teacher and he said "yes, but she wouldnt let me see the nurse. She told me to drink water and sit down". I was in total disbelief, why would a teacher say that? Especially to a sick child. I still can not beleive it.

Lewis and Clark is an excellent school. The entire staff goes above and beyond to provide a loving and structured environment. My children absolutely loved their teachers at L&C and even beg to go back there to visit. I don't believe the county provides adequate supplies due to budget cuts, so the teachers and students love it when parents help out in this area.

We came from another school in spotsylvania 3 years ago, in tears and ready to homeschool. Lewis and Clark has been the best thing that has happen to us and we are so glad to be there. The special education dept. took us in and did all the evaluations for my son to get him where he needed to be BEFORE the school year even started. All of his teachers have been wonderful and even the assistant principal who retired after his first year still ask BY name how he is doing when we see her in town. I will NEVER have a bad word to say about this school and I sing its praises to anyone who will listen!!!

My daughter is in the 1st grade. I would say that this school is just --- well, a school. In the 2 years that my daughter has been a student here, I have not been impressed at all. The teachers do not correspond with the parents, they send out notices for events the day before - no time to plan! The school supply list is absolutely insane! Another local county doesn't require HALF of what this school does. Sharpie markers for 1st graders?! More like for the teachers!! The supplies are either for the teachers, the school store and/or for the dead beat parents that can't afford to buy their own kids supplies. So what do you do? Send very little supplies and have your kid take the heat or bite the bullet and buy what you're asked to. I wouldn't have a problem with the supply list if we put the kids names on everything - but you don't. That's proof enough it isn't meant for YOUR CHILD. Let's see - what else - the lunch menu and breakfast menu is NEVER accurate. The office allows children to be picked up without asking for ID - scary right?! I will be very glad when we can move from this school!!!

This is possibly the best school we have been at. The special education is a little rough on the edges, but otherwise great. The teachers are wonderful. Mr. Scoot Prek-4 Ms. Scott for 1st, Ms. Huckstep 2nd, Ms. Covington 3rd, Ms. Blonsky 4th, and Ms. Bauers 5th
