First off, I have 2 children enrolled in this school. My youngest is in kindergarten and he has seemed to have had a better experience as opposed to my daughter who is in 5th grade. I usually have high respect for teachers as I have been in the educational system before and have friends who currently also are in the education system, I under the stresses of having children who may not behave on a daily basis. However I will not understand teachers who make a point to bully students. My daughter has never had an issue with teachers in all her years of being in school. She infact was always a teachers pet, she may chit chat and we address it when it becomes a problem but overall I have never had experienced her being singled out except on occasion and again, if it becomes an issue I address it with her. This year, we have moved back to Florida and she has been singled out continuously and even her friends have told me that the teachers seem to make a point to single her out even when she isn’t do anything at all. I have addressed my issues with one of her teachers and it went unaddressed and the other teacher seems to really have it out for her as well. Essentially it seems my child gets ganged up on by a man who claims to be religious and a women who can’t seem to get her emotions under control. I am also aware of the fact that my daughter who was always an A and B student now has D’s and requested she be able to attend an afterschool program the school apparently offers but WAS DENIED. I would not recommend this school if your child is mixed or being considered a minority to this school. I would not recommend your child attending this school if they are going to 5th grade. Be aware that if you have concerns they will not be addressed. There are teachers here who do care but unfortunately my daughter got stuck with teachers who find it enjoyable to bully her and hinder her education and ambition to better in school.

I would like everybody to know this is a great school not only for the resources and the education but the staff they treat the whole school and community around them as if they were their own they go away beyond their duties and more to make sure every kid has the tools to succeed my child is hearing impaired they offered audiology services I just can't go to explain how important and how wonderful they are I truly think that from the bottom of our hearts and we would not know what to do without them thank you for the whole entire staff that is connected with reskin elementary school thank you and God bless you

Great school!! They truly care about the kids and the Christian aspect really gives them solid moral values. Best school in the area hands down

There are so many educational resources not being utilized accordingly at this school to help these kids who are at a disadvantage due to language barriers and poverty, it shows in their suboptimal test scores. Where is the money going that funds these school programs? Why aren’t the achievement scores improving despite the additional resources provided to Ruskin Elem?

I sent my child here when he was 3 and 4 years old. It was terrible they kept taking my money saying he was doing fine when he wasn't. By the time I took him out and sent him to public school he was behind. He had a learning disability and they just put him in the back of the class and didn't help him.

The school staff is very helpful. Everyone goes out of their way to make sure my child is successful. My child loves her teacher and the principal Ms. Amos. My daughter comes home excited about what happened that day.

Great teachers, have a great experience there. I have two boys, one in 2nd grade and another in 4th grade. The teachers are in constantly in contact with parents so we know what is going on and how to help our children better.

Ruskin Elementary is an up and coming school. This is my sons second year there, and all of the teachers are very friendly. The one complaint I have about my child going to Ruskin Elementary is you can not drop off before 7:30am and there are not any before school care providers that I have found that will take him to school for those of us that start work at 7am.

My child has attended Ruskin Elementary for 2 years now and the communication at this school is below poor. The school believes in letting a child fail before getting the child assistance to further develope. This is unacceptable. I have asked the school what scales they use, who's method they are using in the classroom, etc. I still have not been given an answer. If you send your child here, be ready for a whole lot of, "I don't know's" from this team. Sickning that our schools have come to this.

Today was my sons first day of school at Ruskin Elementay school. Everything seemed to be going well at first, I took him to school to sign him up for class and walked him to class to meet his teacher. My son was supposed to ride the bus home in the evening so I waited. 20 min after the bus was supposed to arrive I called the school to see what was going on and they said they had to do a head count to make sure all of the children were on the bus so it was running late. When the bus finaly did show up my son did not get off the bus. I went up to the school to have them check to see if maybe he got on the wrong bus. No come to find out he never got on any bus, he was still on campus with some teacher. This was about 3:30 they found him with the teacher on campus. The school never called me to let me know my son was even on campus and when I got to the school they did not know he was even there. My son just started the first grade, it would have been his first time riding the bus.
