Run away from this school. If you have one shred of love for your child do not send them here. They honestly might not make it out.

There is a positive atmosphere and culture in this school. The teachers and staff want to be there and do everything they can to ensure that every student has a positive experience. This year I see will be our best year yet.

My son has had a good experience at the middle school. His teachers were wonderful.

This school is the worse thing ever. No discipline action, fights every single day. There is an Instagram showing all the nasty fights. The staff, principal sheriff, nobody controls those kids. They smoke vapers everywhere at school including inside the school. The kids are super disrespectful If you can enroll your kids in a different school, do it.

If I could, I would rate this school with negative stars. My child, has always been a very good student until he was transferred to this horrible school. After moving here, he has started getting in fights, getting suspended, getting bad grades, and doing other horrifying things. We’ve tried everything to get him back on the right path, but we can’t seem to get anywhere with him. The teachers curse in front of students and do not care about their well being or education. They cheer on the fights like it’s some sort of game. If you were even considering sending your child to this school RUN DONT WALK. Nothing could have ever prepared us for what this school had to offer.

If I could I would give this school a 0/10 because the kids are very bad they fight and lot and the bulling is so bad. Soon as my kid comes home he is always crying because somebody is bulling him by calling him names that I would not like so say. But yeah I would give this school a 0/10.

If I could rate this school with no stars I would the principal Mrs. Carr is rude and very very unprofessional she’s definitely against her kind she talks to the kids like they’re beneath her instead of giving or showing positive vibes and by her being that way it teaches her staff to be as so as well I know that a couple of the teachers don’t appreciate the way she handles things but what are they too do she’s basically like their boss I feel that this school could be so much better if they had a positive role model to run it instead of one of the top people downing them and using profanity towards them then the school might become a b school but as long as that mean rude and unprofessional person is there it’ll never happen

It's great there's nothing wrong with the school it's the kids that are bad so they are giving the school a bad name and I like the school I also like my teachers they are so nice they treat me and everybody else with equal amount of respect and they teach very good. I be learning things I thought was hard but in a different point of view which makes it easier to understand.....this school is the BEST

A lot of the staff run things poorly. I didn't get my schedule until the actual first day of school. When I did, it had mistakes and I had to have it changed multiple times. Teachers were getting suspended, fired, and quitting all the time, too, which really disrupts our learning. Many teachers don't do a great job, either. A certain teacher wouldn't let anyone finish a 50 question test, when most of the class didn't even get half of it done. We had only one 50-minute period to take the test. This was an advanced honors class, too, and was for high school credit.Bottom line is, this school deserves its 3/10 rating. If you have another option, you might want to take it.

My step-kids go to this school. It is widely known for bullying, fights, and drugs (yes drugs). They are always coming home telling us stories of how kids are getting caught smoking pot in the bathrooms. The staff doesn't do anything to enforce rules. Not too happy with this school at all.

I'm new in the area, my daughter is a Hillsborough County Virtual School student. She has to do all her testing at Beth Shields Middle School. Since we moved here, I have left message for three weeks to speak to the principle, the Special Education teacher. Mrs. Walters the Special Ed teacher said she would call me back with information, that was two weeks ago. I can't get anyone from that school to return a call since that one communication. I'm starting to understand why this school has such a low rating.

Beth Shields Middle School in Ruskin Fl, THis is my Son Ian 3rd year at Shields. The teachers are very involve with all the academic and all the activities to help the students to excel in all area of studies. I also love their interactions with all the parents. It help me as aparent to know that my child is treated more as a student and not just a child. Thay are very involved with students and the parents that is quite important to me. I love Shields Middle School for my Child and I recommend that school for anyone who wants to send their Child to that particular School.

I went to this school for about a year and a half, the first week I went, the first fight I had, I'm not a fighter kid but there's a lot of stupid gangs, kids get bullied when they're new, I say because I was but I didn't give them the chance, the food is awful, my writing was so bad, I learned more when I got to Lennard High School, in my opinion that school is so crowded and they don't know how have control of the kids.

I noticed the student giving this school a five star rating - posted June 10, 2012 does not have one capitalization, period, comma, etc. I'd say that is a real great school - In my humble opinion it is the worst school I have ever seen. My children are adults now and my grandchildren have been students at this miserable school. What a shame that they are turning out students without and regards for the English written word.

As a student i've been here for 3 years. Many kids are failing and there's barely any contact with the students, teachers, and administators. I'll say, I admit students here are crazy. They set trashcans on fire, people smoke here, and have a food fight or two. But, in all seriousness, there's also people who get bullied here and they have a poor way of dealing with it. Some of the teachers here are really trying, but don't have the skills and socialality they need. I mean, nobody wants to ask a strict teacher a question do they? The food here is awful. I have seen what's in the burger. And I have no idea what it is. This school is like a jail now. They punish all the kids here including the people who never even got a step into detention. We only have 4 minute to go to class. They expect us to drink water, go to the bathroom, and to get to class on time? Not to mention how crowded the halls are! You hav to be careful, it's like a stampede. Drop your stuff? Might as well say goodbye to that neat binder of yours. And you only get 3 bathroom passes for a semester. Nice. This is all can right about this school, I mean they only give me like, 1200 characters? Darn, I had more. Oh well.

I am a student at this school and i must say the adminastration does nothing to help the students. There a gang members who throw up gang signs and make threats in front adminstartion and they get a brush on the shoulder. But my friend got a referal for eating a cough drop and adminstration is trying to exspell him from the school, which doesn't make since at all.All the administartors that try to help the students are sent to another school or fired.Teachers even don't agree with ahalf the decisions administartion makes and when they ask to have a meeting wit the principal or some other type adminstration they always make an excuse about how they have a busy schedule. The gudince counslers try to help us but administartion never lets them have a say in anything. As a student from personal experinces all I have to say is this school is not i good enviorment for learning.

"C" grade School with "F" grade administration. The head of the School needs to find another position in the School District where she does not require human interaction. If you are a parent needing to speak with her you'll have a better chance of speaking directly with Florida Governor Rick Scott.

According to the School Administration Roster last names, there appears to be a lot of family members working at this School. Oh well ....just a noticeable observaton....
