Discovering E.A. Young Academy has been an absolute game-changer for our family. From the moment we stepped inside to tour the school, we knew we had found something truly special. It's not just a school; it's a nurturing environment where our daughter can thrive and be celebrated for being exactly who she is.One of the most heartwarming aspects of E.A. Young is its genuine appreciation for diversity. Our daughter, who possesses unique talents and perspectives, has found a place where her differences are not only accepted but celebrated. It's incredibly reassuring as parents to see her embraced for her individuality rather than feeling pressured to conform to societal norms. Our happiest moment came when she expressed, with a radiant smile, that she had finally found her people. Knowing that she feels a sense of belonging and camaraderie among her peers and educators speaks volumes about the inclusive and supportive community fostered at E.A. Young. We cannot speak highly enough of the dedicated teachers and staff who go above and beyond to ensure every student feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential. E.A. Young has exceeded our expectations in every way, and we are immensely grateful to have found such a remarkable place for our daughter's education and personal growth.

Enrolling my son at here has been a game-changer for him and our family. Unlike his previous experience in public school, here he's not only intellectually stimulated but also cherished as part of a school family. Through hands-on STEM projects, guest speakers, and tailored lessons, he's consistently challenged to think critically and creatively. The decision to relocate for this school was worth it; the staff has been incredibly welcoming and helpful with the transition. We're so happy to be part of the EA Young family!

We moved to the school a year back and I have all good things to say about it. My child has different learning needs and capabilities in Mathematics and ELA. The school caters to his needs very well. My child loves the school – from the teachers to the students to the challenging curriculum. E A Young integrates compassion into their teaching standards, emphasizes the importance of values, and builds leaders through each of their classes and lessons.Though it is a small school, it allows for a lower student to teacher ratio, giving children more confidence when asking questions, engage in group activities, and opportunities for one-on-one time with the teacher.

Such a great environment for relaxed learning and motivation. My son looks forward to school which is amazing considering he is a teenager. No unnecessary extra work just to meet quotas and great teachers that inspire the kids. My son was too smart and was able to hide in public schools and was not meeting his potential. Now he is engaged and involved.

It’s been an exceptional, game changing experience. My son is thriving and is no longer bored with his school day. He’s developed deep friendships that he struggled to make in a larger environment. EAY has a challenging curriculum, with a focus on research and project based work. There is ample opportunity to pursue passion projects, arts and music. Given its size, the school offers a great variety of courses and programs. That size also ensures a tight knit community and teachers who are personally invested in student success. I highly recommend this school for parents who have bright children struggling to fit the “mold” in a public program, desire a more creative and engaging school day, or who simply want a smaller, highly personal experience.

All 3 of my children are attending EA Young Academy.EAYA is a life altering school. My oldest, who now is a junior, attended the local IB Charter School, but we realized in 3rd grade he was no longer challenged and his needs were not met (we did try and work with the schools administrators). After lots of research we made the choice to give EAYA a try, this was 7 years ago.All my children are different and EAYA meets their individual needs. Single subject or multi subject acceleration are the norm. My children academic and social needs are being met on a daily bases. The Administration and teachers have the well being of their scholars as number 1 priority and always open for suggestions and improvements. Not only are my boys receiving an excellent education, they are allowed to become who they were meant to be, without the concern of bullying, cliques and having to hide their gifts to fit in. They LOVE going to school everyday.

I just can’t imagine a school that would be a better fit for our kid. Despite the school day being about an hour longer than he’s used to, his only complaint is that the days go by too fast. He is always disappointed when there is a holiday because he loves going to school so much. He says he finally feels like a student, not like he could teach the class. My son started in public school and tested into the gifted program. Initially, he enjoyed school, and excelled socially and academically. By second grade the novelty had worn off and he complained of being bored, despite the sporadic enrichment offered through the gifted program. So we started the search for a better option. While there are many excellent private schools in the area few truly addressed the needs of gifted kids, and so we landed on Young for several reasons. We loved the idea of mastery-based curriculum within the setting of aged based class groupings. The grade level curriculum is considerably accelerated and deepened such that most of the kids stay together all day, but if your math prodigy kid may be in 3rd grade for most of the day, but pop over to do math with the 5th graders, then come back for science with the rest of the group, if that is what the kid needs in order to be challenged. They encourage kids to thrive in all areas of giftedness. We never realized in public school how much our kid would fall in love with performing arts, and now that is his favorite daily activity. So many GT programs seem to focus only on the STEM and ELA programs, but Young provides a balanced array of subjects. He has art, performing arts and music several times a week. The micro-society teaches kids how to be citizens and entrepreneurs. They create and sell products, and have jobs within the school for which they are paid with an internal currency. The kids love learning how to run a business and how to contribute to taking care of their school.Among new parents, the comment we heard over and over was “where was this school when I was a kid? I wanted to go here!”Tuition is very reasonable for the area, and a great value for the caliber of education the kids are getting.

E.A. Young offers everything you hear about in “best practices in gifted education” presentations: individualized instruction, personalized learning, flexible classrooms based on educational level rather than age, and a focus on measurable growth of each individual scholar vs. a generic grade level expectation. And while all of that is AMAZING to find in one school, their proven academic advancements aren't even the best part. What makes Young home for us, is the educators’ desires to nurture our scholars' sensitive, empathetic souls and develop powerful members of the community by building leadership skills, discovering hidden talents, sparking entrepreneurial spirit, nurturing philanthropic passions, and encouraging real-life learning outside of the classroom. As a parent, I searched for a good fit for years, advocated for changes at local and state levels, attended every GT conference I could, and read dozens of books. It's so nice to finally be able to sit back and watch your kids flourish as self-motivated learners, enjoying every day, and pushing themselves in ways they don't even fully appreciate yet. I recently had a chance to listen to a highly selective top 10 university talk about what they look for in applicants and I realized that we did everything on their list already by virtue of choosing the right school. It was an amazing and validating visit and reminded me all over again just how unique our school really is!

EA Young truly understands gifted and high ability scholars (including their quirkiness). Classes focus on authentic learning using project based and hand-ons techniques. The AP Capstone program provides challenging cirriculum for the high school students.

Young Academy has been such a breath of fresh air for our 7th grader. She was doing fine in public schools, excelling academically, but not creatively. Once she started attending Young, her passions became her subject matter. The teachers are so wonderful to encourage exploration and innovation in their project-based learning style. Our daughter has found her place in a small group of like-minded students, and the "family" we have found ourselves part of at Young Academy has been so wonderful. The teachers, administrators and other parents all work together so well to create an environment we can all be proud of. My daughter has been exposed to so many competitions and experiences that were lacking in public school. The small class size at Young allows teachers to take lots of one-on-one time with their students, and fosters relationships that are truly amazing. Parent-teacher conferences at Young are such great experiences. I am consistently amazed at how well my daughter's teachers know and understand her and by how intently they hope for and foster her success.

As the father of a GT student, I am amazed at the level of excitement and educational growth my daughter has shown in just a short time at Young Academy. I wasn't too up on all of the educational terms, but I now understand what the teachers were talking about with the differentiated instruction and project-based learning. One area in which my child is strong is math. In her old school, everyone studied the same thing, and when the whole class was done, they moved on to the next thing. Here she doesn't have to be held back when she masters a concept. She can continue on as far as she can go. And with the project-based format, she is figuring out how to solve real-world problems. She really get excited about her projects, but most impressively to me, she doesn't just memorize stuff, she actually understands and can apply the formulas and other elements she has learned (you know, the ones we were all taught in school, and wondered why we bothered because we would never use them in real life!). The kids get it because they implement these things and see them work in action.
