If you want your child to get bullied and continued to get bullied, if your want a person of authority to make the situation the students fault and get victimized twice. If you want the person of authority to abuse their power. If you like to make police reports. Then you have come to the right school! Enjoy!!! Since, my child went to this school the score has gone down to a 4 and when she started it was a 6 I believe but that says a whole lot. Do your research parents? If you are reading this that is great! Hopefully, it doesn't get taking down for speaking the truth.

I see by others commenting that this school still condones bullying. It was like it when I was there 40 years ago. So sad.

The best decision we made was to leave this school. Bullying and lack of concern for students mental health is a very serious issue here. The staff, as well as the superintendent, are more immature than the children. This district is not what it once was.

Extremely difficult to work with staff. Principle and Asst. need to go. They target students, and do not effectively deal with issues of bullying. There's absolutely no follow through, they just tell you what you want to hear. Staff talks behind each other's backs, and shares info about students they should not be discussing. I could not be more disappointed with the school. I know of many parents who have pulled their kids from the district. PLEASE, make sure this school is a good fit for your child before sending them here. There are other districts that help, and are truly concerned about students. This school is not.

This is a great school. The teachers are so supportive and very helpful to various styles of learning. My son received support for his disability, right in the classroom. I am sorry to hear that the views of one parent (see below) will tarnish the reputation of this school. Both of my children attended the school and had no problems with any bullying. But they know to go to their teachers for support, if any of these incidents should occur. When problems happen in the classroom, Jumping to the Principal is not the "proper chain of command!"

Great. I am very happy with the leadership of the new Principal, Mr. Z and the teachers are fantastic!

Worse Middle School downriver. I have posted my review of this school and was taken down. Now it's my mission to post this every day. Including the fact that the principal knew nothing of this site until I told him. I would have to say that the principal, assistant principal and the Superintendant are about the worse people to deal with when it comes to your child being bullied. They are inept. They have allowed my daughter to be bullied and in an effort to defend herself she was treated like the bully. She was suspended for defending herself. When we got no where speaking with the Principal and Assistant Principal. We tried calling and emailing numerous times to the Superintendant. I finally went to his office and was told I had 5 minutes to state my case. Mind you today I got an email from him telling me and my husband that we were being "vague". Being vague with 5 minutes to speak? Please don't send your kids to this school. If they are bullied..they will be bullied by administration and the Superintendant. Too bad that these kids can not trust the administration to be an advocate for them.

I thought the city of Riverview would like to know what goes on while they are at work and they are trusting the safety of their children to the inept administrative staff of Seitz Middle School. My daughter was slapped in the face by three of her fellow students, one of which is a boy. She slapped back in defense of herself. She was given an in-school suspension along with the other students. They would be serving suspension together, smart. The assistant principal and principal first chalked it up to a "slap game gone wrong" (3 on 1, 2 girls and a boy on 1 girl, sounds like a fun game!), then to my daughter bullying the other 3 and they retaliated(why aren't their parents upset about their suspension then?) and finally, "well, they all slapped, they're all suspended". I told both administrators they'd see these other delinquents again if they sat on their hands. They acted as though I was out of my mind. Not 3 days later, 2 of the other 3 are suspended again. No big deal, one of them only stabbed the other with a pencil. Irony alert! I pay Riverview taxes for my kids to go to Riverview schools. These delinquents, school of choice. Take action folks.

My son loved Seitz and now he is at RCHS. My daughter will start there in the fall. She is super excited, but she wishes there was still a little summer left...

DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE WORST MISTAKE I HAVE MADE YET WITH MY CHILDREN! We were new to the district last year and thought that maybe the issues we were experiencing were just an adjustment phase. Maybe some of it was however, the assistant principal has a hard time dealing with issues when it comes to bullying. We could not be more disappointed as this is our second year here and we hate it. My daughter has even lost interest in school as she now hates to go because the staff does not do their job when it comes to takeing care of the kids that start fights and the kids that try and defend themself. As far as I am concerned this school is way over rated!!! Mind you we have left messages at the bd of ed last year and again this year and still NO RESPONSE. Good Luck

We came from a private school and academically it was too easy for my son. He said the kids could care less about grades and learning. Kids were very mean. And while not bullying, they swore a lot and it offended my son.He said the kids seemed to care more about how cool they were then what kind of intelligence they showed. Teachers and staff seemed to really care but the home environment of the children didn't seem to nurture academics. The only problem was that parents sent the problemed children from other schools to catholic schools so that leaves no place for a child that just want's a really good education!

I have two children in the district and I also attended Seitz and Riverview High school and I am a school of choice and the district is great the other wasn't good for my children and as far bullying goes other have more problems and the teachers don't care and Riverview is great and cares. The other district only cared about the money not the kids. I have helped out in the past and plan to again this year.
