Top priority of every teacher is to get off on power.

This school does not focus on the important things like education. They are focused athletics. They play favorites and are not afraid to put children down for being different. WWJD? This Catholic School is a joke. Don't waste your money

I love that this school provides "big school" opportunities in a very close knit environment. Everyone at the school knows my two children by name and they genuinely care about their wellbeing.

Our son attends Gabriel Richard and I have to say, attending this school has encouraged him to "raise the bar" on himself. He is taking three honors courses and it is a challenge for him, however, he has told us he has a goal and in taking these honors courses is getting him well prepared for college. Any struggles he has had in any of his classes, they offer a learning center for kids to get the help they need. I have heard numerous parents who children are now in college consistently say on how well prepared their children are for college compared to some other kids. The school is constantly looking on ways to improve their school. I tell everyone, go to the open houses and get a tour of the school to see for yourself as I don't think you will be disappointed.

As I was reading prior reviews, I am shaking my head at the comment of the teacher turn over rate. I do not find that to be true at all. I am impressed that the majority of the GR staff has been here for many years. Many could leave to earn much more money at a public school, yet they have chosen to commit themselves to Catholic education andto GR. In regard to academics, I am also impressed by GR. My daughter is a freshman and I am beyond confident that she will be more than prepared for college mainly due to the academic rigor and high expectations of this school. I am an educator who has spent 20+ years in public education at the secondary level. I would never pay to send my child here unless I was 100% confident that this is the best opportunity for her. There truly is NOT a better school downriver.

Every teacher I met at GR sincerely cares about their students and make themselves available through many means at all hours of the day. This has resulted in a very successful student body both in citizenship and academics. I have seen such a positive change in my son since attending this school. They come in as children and leave as fine young adults. The campus ministry is exceptional. I personally have been on multiple trips as a chaperon and I was so impressed. There are beautiful memories being forged out that will last their lifetimes.

My son is a freshman and actually likes school. I love the small community that we have, and a lot of the students are children of alumni. I had gotten my son into Riverview public, but he begged me to come here. It has been well worth the money, I can't think of anything more I would like to invest in, than my children's education and happiness. I have relatives that graduated from GR and are very successful and totally recommended the school for my son.

All of my siblings have attended GR and can attest that the school was much better off with Brother James. I currently attend GR but am disappointed as science is my favorite subject, but the science teachers are the worst I've ever had, especially in biology. Also, I am less than pleased with the counselor as she has denied me and my friends of taking honors courses due to arbitrary grades. If you have a "C" in English, you are not permitted to take an honors history class. How does that make sense? Although, if you are interested in the literature department , GR does have an excellent teaching staff. I've had many great English teachers but Mr.Lopez is by far the best. Overall, if you're looking to send your child do a private school downriver and you're considering Cabrini, pick GR.

Gabriel Richard is an excellent high school. The staff is highly qualified and dedicated. The curriculum is rigorous and robust to help students prepare for college. The families help to make this awesome school community an inviting place.

Gabriel Richard is the best high school in the greater downriver area and in all of SE Michigan for many reasons but the best way to gather information on a school is not by reading reviews, you must go to Gabriel Richard and see first hand what makes this school so great. Observe and talk with the students, talk with the teachers, administrators and alumni, come to a school event and see for yourself. We did exactly what I am recommending and it became very clear to us that Gabriel Richard is truly a great school. We currently have 2 of our children enrolled and Gabriel Richard has lived up to everything we expected and continue to expect from a great school.

I went to Gabriel Richard in 9th grade and they put me behind in mathematics. I took geometry at a public school in 8th grade and passed with an A. But when I went to GR, they would not allow me to take anything above Honors Algebra 1. I also encountered a bit of racism. I left for public school after I finished freshman year and I am enjoying it much more. I feel I'm getting more prepared for college at my new school and that GR was a waste of my mom's money.

Very poor treatment of staff. Principal always takes side of parents who have a grudge instead of listening to the staff. I would never send my child to a school where it is acceptable to mistreat anyone including the staff and coaches.

Gabriel Richard is run by unqualified people and is a disgrace to Catholic Education. The students have no respect for administration or teachers. Teacher turnover is ridiculous. No counselor wants to work more than a year. This principal will be the downfall if the school

The school is underdeveloped especially in academics and the students are clueless. I believe this school will close soon due to lack of enrollment and academic issues.

Apparently the previous post is not by a teacher at Gabriel Richard but rather a competitor. One can look up statistics of the school to find out they have 12 AP's the highest downriver and test scores are in the 96th percentile in the state. The Average ACT is 23.7 also a fact. Teachers, students, parents and alumni are actively engaged. It is a good time to be a Pioneer !

The earlier claims about 99% of grads admitted to 4 year schools is COMPLETELY FALSE! The current principal is unqualified, unprofessional, inept, and downright lazy. This school once set the bar in excellence; now the bar has been thrown on the ground. Once this was a vibrant community with qualified and dedicated staff, along with real community service. Now, disrespect, theft, and mediocrity are the norm. Sadly, this is leaving a lot of good students wondering why. Why GR? No thanks. GR does not provide a safe or Christian environment to students. Recently a Teacher used foul and inappropriate language to students and this but one example.

Gabriel Richard fosters a great learning opportunity for all students. With the academic standard, community service involvement and commitment to faith they specialize in building character giving your student unlimited options for the future. 99% are admitted to 4 year colleges and universities and over 4 million in scholarships are awarded yearly. Sports teams are competitive and staff care. If you are looking for a personalized education for your child, this is the place to be.

This principal is not for our school. He is a little boy who wants toplay with his friends. Faculty is HORRBLE. No Guidance counselor. He has let good people go, He is shameful

This school is on the way out. Enrollment has dropped and there is nothing to attract students. Faculty is too old.
