It's unfortunate that the school rating isn't higher. I have been attending RVS since the beginning of middle school, and will now be graduating in 2017. This program has provided me with new and different opportunities to expand my knowledge. All of my teachers put in effort to aid me in achieving my educational and personal goals. With the help of AVID, I have build new skills and got accepted to my #1 choice university. I'm proud to be a student at RVS.

As a student, it is sad for me to look back on these poor reviews. At Riverside Virtual, teachers are totally committed to developing me and my colleagues academically. They provide an incredible atmosphere where students can approach them and receive personalized, 1:1 instruction if needed. The staff is friendly and very understanding. After attending another public school in the same district, I feel equally educated and very prepared to take on college/higher levels of academics.

I honestly think that in order to be i this school you have to be ready for change and be ready to take on a challenge i have been here 3 years and i love this place . I have never felt more successful my entire highschool career . This school has had a bad rep but thats always coming from a parents view . From a students view this is it . This is a college based school that wants the best . Learning on your own time . Being in small groups with teachers. AVID. Yes they have avid here (exciting) . Unlike traditional school you are in a more personal space and are able to go up to the teachers WHENEVER . this is definitely an experience. Best experience nonetheless. if you dont do work you fall behind . Simple. If you do your work you stay on pace or even excel . Two options . Amazing school amazing teachers . So grateful for this blended learning school.

This is a disaster. The teachers are completely ignorant of distance-learning tools and techniques. Over two courses, not one teacher or administrator *ever* initiated a single email or contact of any kind. The wrong coursebooks were listed, an error not corrected until halfway through the year. The teacher took a two month vacation mid-year, and simply disappeared.

This school is a complete joke. They took my daughter as a student knowing full well that she was behind in credits. The teacher we were given told my daughter she was lying about turning work in, then told me I was lying because she couldnt find it. Calls the other teacher who told her she couldn't find it because the way that course was graded SHE cant see it but HE can. 4 broken laptop computers . Math teachers that either refuse to help, or are employed full time at the local high schools and are NEVER ( yes, never there. WE spent 6 months trying to catch this man, only to find out he's never there which makes since considering i've never seen him or had a chance to talk to him once in almost two yrs.) there. This whole thing about the other teachers helping you ? nope. Forget it. Then when you fall behind the teacher / faculty kick you to Raincross AKA continuation . And forget contacting counselors / director- both waited a week each to respond ( the director couldn't even call me back-he e-mailed back...coward.) and sounded like their website help-even though we just wanted to switch homeroom teachers. Which you can again forget. This is nothing more than an empty front !
