Tena Peterson Petix was the best administrator I've had the privilege of working with as a parent & as a teacher. She knew the needs of the community, parents, students and the school & staff. She could tell you specific details about your child upon dropping by her office unannounced, provide you with useful community resources that were actually "useful" and maintained a school atmosphere that i believe was pleasant for all except perhaps a teacher not working up to par which she would NOT allow to continue. I would not have made it through my own college education program as a single parent, domestic violence victim had it not been for her guidance and support.

Longfellow is a community school which is reflected in the relationships that the parents, teachers, staff and students have with each other. My son has blossomed in his first and second grade classes. His teachers really knew how to bring out the best in him. I am very grateful to Longfellow.
