My experience was terrible! My Son was hit in the ear by another student! My Son was complaining of ringing along with pain in his ears. I had to take him to the specialist(ENT) and as a result of being hit his eardrum was perforated(busted)! I notified the Principal Dr. Morgan that I would be taking him in. I called him several times to let him know the news but never received a call back. I went up there and waited over 30 minutes to see him and showed him the paperwork from the ENT. I was told he would address the issue and schedule a conference because I wanted to speak to the parents. I was also told that the boy had behavioral issues and was scared of his parents and that some kids do things on purpose to get suspended which I cared nothing about! At this point all I was concerned about was my son’s safety and well-being! I gave him time to reach out to them but nothing was accomplished and done so I reached out to the District office aI spoke with the Vice Superintendent and he said, matters will be addressed. However, I received a call with him and Dr. Morgan both on the phone saying there wasn’t proof and nothing could be done! I asked, what about the report and call I received from the school? I asked, what about my Son’s word? I asked, what about the doctors report that clearly saying everything? The paperwork also had his return appointment along which a hearing test would be done to see if his hearing was affected and to see if the hole closed which of it wasn’t surgery would be discussed! The Vice Superintendent had the nerve to say to me if fresh blood was visible in his eardrum why isn’t that on the report???!!! That’s neither here nor there Sir and can be verified if that’s the case! Then, when something gets busted it bleeds right??? That’s common sense I would think but however, nothing mattered not even my Son’s well-being, safety, his busted eardrum nor the doctors report! I was so upset and speechless and just couldn’t believe what I was told! My son would cry every day saying he didn’t want to go to school and that the boy kept messing with him and I also, called the district to speak with Dr. Davis but was denied and told by her secretary that the issue would be addressed! However, it wasn’t and my son was crying every day and couldn’t focus in school and I was worried about his safety! I ask the staff as a parent how would you feel? I made the decision to transfer my son! I’m beyond discussed and hurt

My child was severely bullied on the bus. After many complaints from me the bullying continued. Students found my child on social media websites and left him messages to commit suicide, that he was going to get beat up at school. Kids stole his cell phone on the bus. He was also attacked by a classmate in the bathroom. Admin was very understanding but no issues were resolved by the end of the school year. I had to go to the police over these issues.

MS. Calvin has definitely brought a freshness to the school, she is the epitome of professionalism, her and the assistant principal. The teachers are ready, eager , and enthusiastic. A far cry from previous leadership, MS. Calvin's presence can be felt, it's great to have a principal that is diplomatic and knows how to communicate with parents and with her staff. The front office, is also extremely professional, pleasant even when they are busy. Hopefully the principal and assistant principal are in it for the long run, I think under their leadership Sauk has the ability to soar!!

And I will never recommend this school. The teachers were so strict. It's also a poor learning environment and some of the teachers were really not good in their jobs. They just don't care if a student feels lost, but anyway, I think most of the students here don't care at all! I always hear curses and see obscene things from students, but the teacher doesn't even care! All of them just don't care about their students. I'm a very bright student, so I can see in an outsider's perspective, and I can say that the school is really not good. Teachers were just after the textbooks, and we watch movies all the time. Most of the students were just copying off with each other. We really don't have a real 'quiz'. We can answer any packet open notes, so our only problem is finding the answer on the textbook. Never really taught me anything. No studying for the test or whatever. It's really... frustrating. When a bad kid starts something, it affects us as a class, and I really am angry about it. Most of the students were trying to fit in the cool crowd, and I just hate the school. Don't send your children here, trust me.

The are some teachers that do not care about your child's education. The principal doesn't want to be bothered so he shifts the responsibility on to others to handle problems that were addressed to him. If you are looking for a quality education with caring teachers you may want to consider another school. This school is not what it used to be.

I agree with one of the other comments about the principal and staff having a mean streak and they are good at making kids feel hated. I would not recommend this school. I don't feel that they put the kids first. The most important thing should be providing a quality education but I don't feel that this is the school's top priority. If you have the opportunity to put your child in another school I strongly suggest that you do so.

I am a current student here in Sauk, and what I can say is... it's okay...but i think the math is kind of late because i came from a private school from another country where there is no middle school. In my old school, we already covered all we're studying in sauk. The faculty is strict where they make us line up when we go from one subject to another. But over all, I think it's just OK.

I have children attending this school in this school year. The school is grossly under staffed and unsupported by the school district...they are all doing the best with what they have to work with...but sometimes it is really tough to make wonderful out of nothing, so all I can say to the parents that rate this school below average is: if you are dissatisfied with the curriculum and the performance of the staff at the school...I see only one of two choices? 1. being, remove your child and place him in a private institution, 2. become more involved and supportive both financially and personally in what is going on with your child and become a participating factor in the school to which you pass judgement on.It is easy to past the blame for children's behavior. So let us lead by example not just in words.

Based on treatment of students, its horrible!! Both principle and staff seem to have mean streak. Daily routine is to issue write-ups, and suspensions, (during next visit, may see stack of write-ups near secretary desk). Had to contact school after finding out other teachers (Art, music, lunch supervisor, etc) have authority to cancel gym and recess based on issue they had with only one student at times. Gym is twice wk I personally feel gym should be mon-fri, but to reduce it to missing entire week or more? Get the impression theres no compassion, patience, love for the kids, or the job! Do understand write-ups are needed at times but some are pety, ridiculous and vindictive! And after hearing about some of the things thats being said to the students, Im convenced some of the behaviors/actions/responses are provoked!! Their good at making students feel well HATED, which should be channeled toward making them feel welcomed and cared for and perhaps that high academic score sauk have, would be even higher. Would NOT recommend attending at all! Would recommend transfer.
