I am a past student at this school. Just for context, I am a girl but my hair is tight and curly so it appears short. I also wear a lot of baggy clothes so I look more masculine which is confusing to some people I guess. Literally my first day there people were already making issues and talking about me. assuming I was transgender or something. It was a luxury for people to ask before calling me 'he' but most people made jokes and stuff. Most people were just rude in general because I'm quiet. I had to move classes at one point because I was being made fun of for being the only 7th grader in an 8th grade class (I'm IB) which has never made a lot of sense to me. After barely a month of going there things got way worse. I tried to go to the bathroom after being in the gross cafeteria and a girl literally blocked me from entering and said I was a boy. She laughed at me when I told her I was a girl which eventually made me cry. The teacher just got me to calm down and did nothing else but later that day in gym everything went downhill. The girls and boys were separated (which was extra awkward because people were confused why I was with the girls) and the girls went to the cafeteria to watch a video about the rules or something. I was at a table with two other girls that weren't talking and being respectful (Like I was doing) and the rest of the girls there were the ones that had laughed at me earlier. They were all talking. The entire table got sent back to the loud and crowded gym of boys who were playing games which the girls watched the rule presentation. I got on my phone because it was the last class of the day and literally everyone else was. The teachers never paid attentions anyway. I sadly ended up next to the rude and talkative girls who immediately started talking bad about me right in front of me as if I wasn't there. They were whispering and stuff while glaring at me. The leader of their group kept having to stand to whisper to them because she was one row ahead of her friends. Eventually, she got up again to say some more rude things about me behind my back and one of the girls next to me accused me of touching her. She immediately started going off on me despite me not even brushing her and I eventually broke down again and grabbed my stuff to leave. I was crying pretty bad and the whole girl group followed me. I got away but eventually got too scared to go back and switched schools. She wasn't punished because nothing worked on her I guess.

Hello, I am an 8th grade student at Fairfield Middle School. I am in IB and this school is surely underrated. If you heard that the school is ghetto you are wrong. Fairfield has some of the best teachers in the world. I won't lie to you there are a lot of fights and some of the students don't bring there best attitude to school but besides those few people it is awesome. When it comes to academics teachers make it very easy. If somebody fails its certainly not the teacher's fault. We have over 10 sports that you can play for the school which is average for middle schools. We tend to succeed in all sports. We have many great clubs like drama club, alpha academy, and the best of all, Do Something Club! Do something club helps out the world in many ways. We actually started a project for a Fairfield Fresh Market where we can serve the community fresh, healthy food for low costs. All that food was planted in our own garden.Shout out to Ms. Hall. (the club leader) We have a great music program. We recently were in a competition and our school won for orchestra, chorus, band, and jazz band. Shout out to Ms. Storrs and Ms. Murray! (the band director and the chorus and strings director)

I was a substitute teacher at Fairfield Middle School this year. In the 7th grade classroom, 2 girls were fighting each other in the first 5 minutes of the class. After security removed them, the class never settled down. They would not listen, didn't care about learning, and refused to complete any work. I will not be returning to Fairfield.

First off, I am an eighth grader at Fairfield Middle School. I am currently still in the IB program ever since 6th grade and I have enjoyed it. People say bad stuff about Fairfield and I can honestly say that it's not true. Fairfield has improved over the many years. It's not an hard program there is of course homework and projects and community and service though. People are controlled everywhere, definitely learning too. Discipline? You ask well yes, there's also this one teacher who makes sure you listen and follow directions at lunch. Nobody messes around with him and all the teachers are hard working. I like how there is a big mixture of different kinds of students and no matter what everyone fits in and has fun at this school. I can only speak for the IB program but at times non-ib kids are in the same elective and they know how to behave. It's not the school that's bad and ghetto only the people/students that make it that way.

My daughter was in the IB program for the first 2 semesters of 6th grade before we had to move, and I don't think we'll ever stop missing this school. Her teachers were great and are still in communication making sure she is doing well. The front office staff are awesome, and her counsellors were the best. The school was like family, and there was great chemistry between the students. The staff did a good job of maintaining discipline as well.

Great teachers, administration, students, ancillary staff, and INVOLVED parents! FMS offers excellent extracurricular activities as well as special interest groups. You get out of this school exactly what you put into it and if you think that you can just drop your kid off and have them become a rocket scientist then FMS is not the school for you or your child! Education begins at home and because you run out of money for your high-"fulutting" private school and think you are going to dump anothers school problem child at FMS then you are bringing the school down!
