Good school in a safe neighborhood. Some kids are very wealthy while others are migrants. Library close by. Traffic can be difficult to pick up because there's one road that services the elementary and middle school (as well as the Reisterstown library).

We have a son in 2nd grade with an IEP. We have been very impressed with the quality and care that his team provides. We love that he can be in an advanced group for an area of strength and receive 2:1 special education services for an area of need. I wish there was more community engagement, but overall we have been very happy at Franklin!

I don't know about the special education program but I can't think of a better public elementary school in the metropolitan area for safety, learning, and family engagement. Great little community. Everyone knows each others, many work in Washington DC or Baltimore as high powered executives and come back to Reisterstown every night (you'll occasionally see a million dollar car drop off a child). I'm not wealthy and bought a townhome in Reisterstown when my daughter turned 4. The public middle and elementary school in Reisterstown are top notch.

The quality of teaching is great, I will confess that. However, not one person has given me a warm welcome since I enrolled my children. When I am in the carpool lane, I am instructed not to get out the car but I have a toddler who attends who cannot unbuckle himself and they just sit there and do not assist him but assist all other families coming through. I do not get a good morning, nothing. I am not acknowledged at all. I pray my kids aren't treated this way. I don't want to say it is because we look different from what the majority of the demographics looks like but there is no other explanation. I am an Assistant Principal and I have had to have conversations with my staff about greeting families. ALL Families should be and feel welcomed. I do not hear from teachers if I do not reach out. The data is strong and instruction is good but as someone who has been in education for about a decade, its more than that and this school does the bare minimum.

My grandson attends Franklin and I could not be more satisfied with this school. My grandsons has a speech delay and they have been very supportive from the beginning. The staff whom I have been in contact with over the years are all great answering questions when I need understanding as it relates to my kids grades and progress. His teachers have always been caring especially Mrs. Stewart, Mrs. Lambrinos and his speech teacher Mrs. Signor. So far 4th grade has been good and his new teacher ia responsible be and explains test scores to me and she has a positive outlook on his progress. The entire staff is amazing. The curriculum also challenges him and it is fun for him. It warms my heart when over dinner he says hey did you know that Jackie Robinson was the 1st black baseball player? Everyday, every week, month and year.. my kid proves to me that he is learning and while we teach him at home I know he is getting a great education at Franklin. Satisfied grand parent!

Franklin is great! Franklin is a green school so we recycle and have a school garden. Franklin's bus drivers make good rules and make our buses safe. I, a student at Franklin wants to thank Ms. Donatelli and all my teachers. Franklin focuses on safety, learning, social interactions and extra curricular activities. Franklin's STEM fair is great because it helps us think outside the box. I think STEM fair is fun too! I wanted to participate in battle of the books but couldn't. Franklin encourages reading. March Madness has been transformed into a reading competition here at Franklin. The Passports Spanish program helps us learn a new language early. Franklin uses technology to enhance our learning. We type many projects and next year 4th and 5th grade will get devices too. In speacials we have a good time while thinking about our future. I love Ms. Lakenan's advanced group. I enjoy it since we focus on advanced ELA, math and other skills. In gym we are taught how to play many sports. The dream box learning math program is so fun! We play games while learning math in many ways. In dream box we learn fractions, multiplication, division and more! This year 4th grade is going to get to do a musical. We are learning lots of popular songs like "Don't worry be happy". In art we are doing square one art. We draw a picture and send it to a company that turns our art into a mug, a mouse pad and more! We learn about musical instruments and how to play some preparing for the 5th grade concerts. At Franklin we have lot's of assemblys. They go from cyber bullying to the rainforest. Franklin Elementary School is awesome! Go lions! Go red and blue! Go FES!

Great school! My son is now going to 2nd grade, and has attended Franklin Elementary School since Kindergarten. We love Franklin!! I would highly recommend this school to anyone. We know that our son will receive a great education at Franklin, which is extremely important to us. The Parent Teacher involvement is also great. Everyone sticks together and works well as a team. The diffrerent school activities that Franklin has to offer throughout the school year is awesome. Both Principals are great. They are very sweet, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. We are looking forward to the future years to come at Franklin Elementary School.

Franklin es is a warm inviting place to learn. Student work is proudly displayed. Teachers are approachable and value kindness (social emotional growth) as well as academic progress. They would benefit greatly from any grant available.
