If your child is average student they will fall through the cracks here. School only cares about high test schools and above average kids in honors and AP classes. If your child is a high achiever they will most likely be fine here. Numerous stories of the Superintend being hard to work with and disliked by staff and other colleges outside of Randolph. BOE is also not great, so much in fighting and not open to parents options. If I had it to do again I would not choose Randolph for my children. You can definitely do worse at other schools but for the taxes Randolph should be better (and used to be better).

Good teachers, good sport teams, and great music programs.

Most teachers are extremely unmotivated and I have had experiences where my friends who were foreign were treated much different to as if they were not. Many of the students here are also unmotivated and worked out. Friends of mine who were foreign have not been welcomed or accepted into this community simply because of the fact that they had a different accent or look to them. I feel like teachers and staff members notice these things yet make little to no changes what so ever.

Both of my children attended Randolph high school. They were accepted to top US universities for their engineering degree.

My son and my daughter had an excellent education at RHS. Their teachers were inspiring and involved. My kids participated in many activities, including sports. They had wonderful friends. They both got into top colleges, as did their friends.

If you have a child that struggles academically, don't take the chance by placing them in Randolph schools. This district is so focused on high test scores that they dismiss the "average" performers and focus on the AP students. Drugs are prevalent, and unfortunately, affluence contributes to that problem. In the last few years, the district has laid off the most experienced teachers to cut costs by hiring newbies right out of college.

I think that compared to other schools, RHS is pretty good. However, I just feel like a number on a chart. Its all about test scores and not about LEARNING and remembering material. I love the music program, especially the musicals, but overall there is too much stress to the point where getting a B as a final grade seems like the end of the world to most students.

Just heard that Mr. Austin, from the High School, was not picked to be the new Vice Princpal at the Middle School!! Is this true? Has it been voted on yet by the Board? Is there anything we can do about it? Send around a petition?

This is a great school. I am currently a student attending it. There is an award winning band program, and great athletics. Academically speaking it's near the top. Most of the teachers care deeply about the success of their pupils. Although a few seem to only be teachers, because they needed a job. Overall it's a great school which has opened many doors for me.

My son has excellent teachers, terrific guidance, outstanding academic and athletic programs, and most important, he is loving his experience at Randolph High School. Keep up the great work and thank you for educating our children.

Randolph High School is not very big in size, so there's a feeling of community among the students. In terms of recreation, Randolph High School still needs to improve - the bands and sports teams are nice, but they are not top caliber. Academics are near mid to top tier for public schools. Having been a student at Randolph High School, I think that it's a school that allows kids to grow up without a lot of stress or pressure - both from school, studies, and from peers. You are able to grow on your own at your own pace with relatively little peer pressure because the town is very suburban, and so is its attitude/environment. You're relatively far from the city and so your kids are rather protected, moreso than schools in, say, Bergen County, for example.
