The school lacks a robust special education department with a profound understanding of a child’s disability. The school also needs to focus on building relationships with and supporting parents, a principal who is not quick to file a 51A/ DCF on a parent trying. Randolph needs more than one middle school because this middle school environment and culture could harm your child. Students engage in inappropriate behavior, conversations, and fights with each other. Also, there needs to be more services for students on IEPs. It starts with writing good IEPs and revising when a parent requests a revision.

It all depends on what teachers you get because some will help you and actually teach you things while others can just be annoying and make you do things that are useless and aren’t even required so overall this school is luck based if you have great luck then join this school but if your luck is kinda trash then you probably shouldn’t join this school.

Great school teacher really care and engage with parents and for been such a small town city kids seems to enjoy time and having a good experience they would switch for anything, so far im happy that my kids are happy

I've attended this school for 3 years. Overall, this school is not for people who want a stress-free, safe environment, and a nice time at the school. But it's for people who have a very stable mental health, want to face challenges, and wants to be the best students in class. I would say this is school is "ok" with their academic but really do needs to improve on student's discipline and grades. About 70% of students I know have grades of B and lower. Also, I can guarantee you that you will face problems there such as bullying, anxiety/depression, peer pressure, dramas, stress, and etc. Sure, you may be a very positive, open mind, and hard working person, but that can be changed since you can easily be influenced by your environment. Just make sure to keeps in mind what are your goals, who's actually your friends, and who you want to become and you should be fine. Please keep up with your work in class (maintain high grade) and be nice to the teachers & staff, since they are the only groups of people you can trust and reply on. Some can be strict, forgetful, and helpless but you got to understand that they already have their own problems and dealing with "these kind of students" gives them a lots of headaches. I give 4/5 for "Homework" because I don't think that the homework is challenging enough and the teachers should be more clear on the homework and provide more accessible help to homework since some of them didn't see the emails (But lets be true, that can happen sometimes).I give 3/5 for "Teachers" because I don't think the teachers are effectively dealing with students. Teachers usually don't do much when students misbehave. The most they do was give student detention, send to/call the office, lecture the student, and call parent. While some teachers are overwhelmed and just need a time out. I honestly feel bad for them but they should make an effective ways to deal with student, otherwise the student would still misbehave.I give 3/5 for "Leadership" because there are many opportunities, activities, and programs there for you to thrive in leadership position."I give 1/5 for "Character" and "Bullying" because like what I mention before, the society there wasn't...great. I give 2/5 for "Learning differences" because the staff/teacher treat student with disabilities nicely and calmly. But the students there didn't really care and doesn't want to go near them. The teachers should do a better job at helping students with disabilities.

My daughter has been going here for just over a year , she has been on and off do to COVID restrictions but so far she has had a great experience and looking forward to graduating this year and heading to the community middle school .. to me this says a lot coming from her previous experience at Boston Latin academy.. at the end it’s all about the students effort

I would rate this -9,890,876 stars if i could. its smelly, there is too much bullying, every centimeter of the bathrooms are gratified, and the teachers don't care and will just give the students detention or more homework. Every single teacher has at least one favorite student in each of their classes.

RCMS really has improved. Disciplinary issues are not completely settled, but have definitely improved. Students are making amazing progress academically. In the 2015-2016 school year 5 out of the 10 homerooms really made a change in this school. This was the POWER/COLOR team and I;m telling you, being a student who was on the team with 126+ students, there was an impact that had been made. The other schools are improving too and even renovations have been made. My only issue is NWEA. Students do not deserve to be taken out of class for testing like this.

This school had stepped up this year .We've gotton new and strict staff members that students wouldn't dare messing with, so the discipline part had improved. 7 th grade has a colored team .5 out of the 10 homerooms making an impact on the whole school, they people really need to stop saying randolph schools are bad because ,the elementary schools are flawless. Parents should have nothing to worry about because its your child that defines their path .Teachers teach the ones that wanna be taught be consistent with your good behavior .Teachers dont blow up on you for no reason you gotta be dedicated to learn because if your not no matter what school you go to you will fall.Dont surround yourself with drama get good grades and you are all set. " Its not the school its you"

The school is great and I think Randolph is improving. Randolph Community Middle School isn't as bad as people say. It has so much diversity of culture it makes us students feel welcome. Students learn Spanish in 7th and 8th grade. The school has a very good lunch system. Kids can join band, chorus, the drama club,the running team, soccer, and many more. Our scores for standard testing have improved this year. There is drama at Randolph Community Middle School, but if you pay attention to everywhere else, there is drama at all schools too.

RCMS is a welcoming school. I was having a lot of trouble with my daughter. They intervened. I know I had to do my part and listen to some difficult things. But i knew it was to help. She now has boundaries. We got her progress report and her grades increased. It does take a village so thank you RCMS. Great Leadership, Great Team. Parent of a 7th grader

This school isn't safe, helpful, or useful. The teachers lose their temper and assignments then say we didn't turn them in. I am a student here and I'm surprised I haven't been beat up yet. If it was just a few kids that were bad then this school wouldn't be rated 3/10 would it? Their education is low quality and have low standards. The students or even my classmates always try to start fights and violence. This school is also unsanitary. There was even a mouse here. Also the teachers, so it seems like I haven't learned anything because I already learned it in the past. They need to challenge the kids that are above average because all I ever do is do work that I could've done in 5th grade. They waste like the whole class to talk about behavior but do they do anything to the kid? No. I also had a situation where my bag was stolen and the things in it were gone. We found out later who did it but they lied and said I didn't know it was yours. Even if it wasn't mine was it right to steal it anyway? Later I had a witness see that the thief was trading my things. So I would have given this school 0 stars if they let me. No morals and no effort towards making this school successful.

Very mixed. Some teachers are fantastic; an eighth grade Math teachers is great-- always staying after, encouraging, but demanding of students as well, sets bar high. Not enough of that. Long term teacher absences a problem. Leadership & effectiveness decreased since 2009/2010. Drama among students. Lowered expectations for all. Kids don't take home books from a lot of classes. They only have classroom sets. Students bored to death or lost. The district is working wants all working on same standards at same time, but need more individualized opportunities, tutoring, teacher creativity to get kids excited about subjects rather than micromanaging teachers. Always new PD, new programs, not effective. Less communication to parents than I've seen less parent communication now than 2009/2010. Potential there, but there's a ton of work to do. Kids aren't asked to read to do a lot of reading out of class. An eighth grader might have a worksheet with a paragraph to read for homework. No push to ask more of students, and parents in Randolph troubled by low expectations.

so i am an 8th grader attending rcms and overall i think it is a good school, just because randolph isnt a rich town, and there are some bad kids, parents get the idea that the whole school is bad because of 2 or 3 kids, when really everyone else are good students. So my point is, you can send your kid to any school, no matter what its history is like, because it doesn't matter if the school is a 4 or 5 star school, all that matters is how much work your child puts into their education because even if your child goes to a private top notch school, it doesn't mean that they wont succeed in a not so top notch public school.
