I have been going to Mitchell for two years. When I started here, quarantine had recently ended. As one might expect, Mitchell has changed a lot. We have honors classes in math and English available in all three grades. We also have an amazing music program. At a recent festival, our advanced band brought home a 4th place trophy (out of 6) and a grade of Excellent. This is the second best grade. Our choir brought home a 2nd place trophy (out of 2) and a grade of Excellent. Our orchestra, which I'm a part of, brought home a 2nd place trophy (out of 3) and a grade of Superior. This is the best grade possible. We are also an IB school

I went to this school for my entire middle school experience, from 6th to 8th grade. As of May 2022, I am a sophomore in high school soon to be a junior. During my time here, I was called slurs (I am and was out as a lesbian), stalked and harassed, and faced misogyny from other students. I only was able to get help from teachers and the councilors were no help. They wanted us to 'talk it out'. It made me feel unsafe to be there some days, yet I went to try to keep up perfect attendance. Most of the teachers there were spectacular, save for a few. But some of the other staff were not. Despite my negative experience, the clubs were strong and a good place for friends. I hope I could visit a few of my old teachers again someday, because they were amazing and even found interests that've lasted for years in their classes. History and the old Culinary program are shining examples. And sewing via a club. (Also, I never got direct experience in their classes for disabled students, but from what I saw it was positive.)

This school is better than I though it would be. I was nervous to send my son here because of the low ratings, but honestly I think it is just because it is an older school & doesn't get much funding compared to the Folsom schools. My son wanted to go here because his friends were going. He rides the bus to & from school everyday, is getting good grades, & there has been no issues with bullying. I've heard from other parents that Mitchell is definitely a better middle school than Mills. I recommend giving this middle school a try because you may be pleasantly surprised.

My daughter has really enjoyed going here. The staff has always been helpful and my child hasn't had one bad teacher.

I am rating this way because never in my life have I seen my child so stressed and scared, having only enrolled for 2 months and has come home revealing that another students have thretened him with death. students are out of control with fighting going on just about every other day. office ladies are nice but the rest of the staff my son says he has never seen most of the staff and after 2 months still doesn't even know who the principle is.

I attended this school for two years. Both of those years, I un-enrolled mid year to switch schools. This is because of the horrendous stress placed upon me, a 11 year old, fresh out of elementary school. I had several breakdowns and now have to take medicine to help with the anxiety and depression this school gave me. My brother, who has autism, was horrendously bullied here. The school did nothing about it. I would NEVER recommend Folsom Cordova unified school district. I wish they would get shut down.

Worst school in the district.Does not care about the kids. Too busy protecting the rude unprofessional staff.Superintendent should interview random children and get their feedback .

My son had the worst time at this school, was picked on for having good grades. The staff is rude and lazy. The principal and vice principal cannot handle behavior problems before they escalate. I can't imagine why parents continue to gush over this school and give it five stars.

We are so pleased with the quality of education our children are receiving from Mitchell Middle School. We are fortunate to be at a school that offers the International Baccalaureate program. The teachers and staff are professional, highly knowledgeable, and caring. Our child was involved in an incident of being bullied. Both the Principle and Vice Principle quickly addressed the incident with us and our child, handled it properly, and left us to feel our child is in a safe learning environment. We have open communication the teachers and feel they are willing to work with us to make sure our kids do their best. Most importantly, our children love the school. They are active in many of the clubs and sports the school offers, have excellent grades and have made many new friends. We did not let the negative opinion of others sway us sending them there, and have found out for ourselves what a great school Mitchell truly is.

W.E. Mitchell Middle School can benefit from a new vice principal.I would have to sadly say he is bias with students and he is one step from being reported to the Rcpd.He shouldn't act like a bully himself to the children after all the kids are "students" not his own children and should treat them accordingly regardless of race or gender.

W.E. Mitchell has wonderful office staff. Thank you very much to Mrs. Black for all of her cheerful help. I adore the music/band teacher he really gives of himself to all of the students. Mr. M the 7th grade English is amazing a huge improvement over last years English teacher. I wish I could take the Spanish class myself..good job teacher. I really like the new scheduling program this year.
