My two children attended Riverview STEM k-5th. So we have spent 9 years at the school. Between the two, we have had almost every teacher at the school. They are all excellent. The teachers went above and beyond during distance learning. We are entering our last year at the school, and we are heartbroken to be ending our time there. The Staff is supportive and friendly. It is a lottery system, so parents need to look early into when applications are due. Another reviewer commented most students come from Folsom. While some families do live in Folsom, Elk Grove, and other neighboring cities, the majority of students are from Rancho Cordova. This is a great small school with great teachers. Each grade only has 60 students.

I went to Riverview in its first six years as an STEM school, from 2014-2020. Don't get me wrong, this is a great school. But if you are a parent who is considering sending their children here, I ask you to read all that I have to say. Riverview STEM was made so it could be a school for smart children from Rancho Cordova. And that's what it was, for three or so years. I wasn't old at all when I found out that Folsom schools weren't allowing Rancho students to attend. But I was old enough to know what it meant. Recently, I found out that almost all Riverview students are from Folsom these days. And it saddens me to know that Folsom parents, who have a wealth of good schools to choose from, are having their children take up spots at Riverview, our best school. Thank you for reading.

My daughter has been attending Riverview STEM for two years now. From kinder through first. She enjoys every day of school and is sad to stay home when she is sick. Her teachers have fought for services she needs like speech and OT, and they have handled her quarks with compassion and with an eye to resolving any issues. My kiddo has an IEP and I feel like she is getting the services she needs and is thriving despite some barriers. I am so glad we landed at this school.

My kids are traumatized and worse off mentally from their time here. The teachers checked out entirely during the pandemic, literally yelled (yes. Yelled) at the students during zoom calls when the teachers were too technologically inept to realize the problem were their own internet issues, and just didn’t care enough to communicate anything to parents. Last day of school my second grader was left crying since his teacher didn’t care enough to tell him it was a fun water game day at the school & she didn’t bother to call in for any long distance learners. That is shameful shameful behavior in a grown adult, especially one who is supposedly trained in child development and education. The only awesome teacher there is Ms. Lockhart in 3rd grade; if your child doesn’t have her as their teacher , run away as fast as you can!

It's very positive. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they all seem to be happy to be working there. It is a very competitive school to get into, and so the parents are very involved, if not with the school, their children. It is also very ethnically mixed, so the kids have a colorblind experience.

Riverview STEM is an amazing school. They learn so much more than what is taught everywhere else. I feel like everyone there is very close knit too. I don't ever see the children arguing. They all work together as a team. I love how the teachers adjust the homework to each student's individual level too. I noticed when I started volunteering in class. I was filling the Friday folders and the students would receive different homework based on where they are at. The approach used here REALLY works.

Excellent. Best school in Rancho Cordova. The students are engaged, challenged, encouraged, and taught life long skills to help them with their future.

The old reviews for this school are inaccurate. The old school closed for a few years, and only reopened as a STEM academy in 2014!The principal is wonderful, after school programs are fun, hands on robotics curriculum is excellent! Most of the teachers are attentive and caring. This is a great school!
