The elementary campus is great with great teachers! The secondary campus is not well run. They have a communications director who gossips about all parents and students and favors only certain programs who get all the credit for everything. She really needs to go for this school to run like a professional school should. The athletics director only cares about 2 sports and those are the ones he coaches- baseball and basketball. Most all other sports are coached by parents who have their own kids on the team and give them special treatment. The whole athletics department at this school is a joke. If you high schooler is serious about athletics DO NOT COME TO PACT. Your child will not get the supportive environment they deserve. The only good sports are run by coaches who don't have kids on the team they are coaching. The Soccer teams are great because they are coached by coaches who actually are fair and do the right thing. The Speech and drama department is coached by amazing coaches so I would recommend them as well. If you child wants to be an athlete in any other sports, I would avoid this school. Nepotism is all around at this school.

My kids attended elementary and secondary here.For the most part, they had kind and caring teachers who truly took the time to invest in them. They also made lasting friendships that I am guessing they will have for life. As a parent, I always felt respected and was encouraged to be involved. Every school has its issues so I would never say the experience was perfect, but I am grateful that my kids attended a smaller school, where they were known and cared for, and avoided the invisibility and social pressures of a larger school (especially in their teenage years). They were never just a number there, but they were seen and heard and valued.

My two boys attended Pact. Not only a great education but friends for life. Pact is a family environment, everyone looks out for everyone and partner involvement is huge. Nice to see all the parents in halls, classroom and lunch room.

As someone who has witness first hand the high school side of PACT, I don't believe they are equipped to expand right now. PACT over the years could have very well changed, but I also doubt it. Their elementary side, is wonderful, and they teach their curriculum well on that side. I would much rather have them, expand the elementary side, rather than the secondary side. They need to focus more on the secondary and helping the students we have now; rather than looking to expand. However, you get over to the secondary side, and that is not the case. Not only is the curriculum poor on the secondary side, but so is the discipline. They don't hear all the sides of the students, and if they do, in the end it goes to the side that has not much to blame. Not only that, but students who reach the age to do PSEO, would much rather go ahead and do PSEO and leave PACT, why expand when high school students leave anyways, because they don't want to be there? Another reason is, why expand so far away? PACT in reality is going father away from families, than closer. It is hard enough to get to PACT where it is located right now, but expanding it to Central park, is just too far. And they are building in an already developed area.

Pact is a great school for our kids. We have 4 that attend. The post from Jan 28 is misguiding. Every single business asks for reviews. The person asking for the reviews was the communications director, simply doing her job. (She is WELL-worth her salary, and then some!) One thing we love about PACT is that us parents ALL have the opportunity to voice our wants and needs for our students. PACT encourages all parents to attend meetings that decide curriculum, policy changes, events, etc! Any parent that wants their voice heard is always welcome to have direct communication with those that are in authority. I LOVE that we have a high parent-involvement. It is our responsibility to our kids to care about their education. I enjoy the teachers and staff at PACT, they offer many different viewpoints and challenge my kids to think outside their own “circle” and be a critical thinker. Each staff member offers something unique to the students.Especially excited about the upcoming expansion for PACT! PACT does a lot of things really well and is willing to address the things they have challenges on… And I’m glad to be a part of it.

This school is great for my kids, I have 4 here. The school offers lots of sports, co-ops, and activities. The downside is the overbearing moms that think they run the school. They really take a whole lot of credit for things that have already been in place. One mom in particular makes videos of herself and acts like she changes the schools, this is not accurate. Another mom and school administrator is now begging for people to write “positive” reviews on all websites to attract more kids, bias much? The teachers and administration are amazing here. My kids have enjoyed going here. One major downside is there is no diversity or inclusion in this school, mostly because of these over bearing church moms who teach their kids to act the same. Complain to get what you want. If someone comes from a different culture, they won’t be accepted here. If you have beliefs that don’t align with the “moms” you and your kids will be an outcast. It’s sad because hate is taught at home, and it definitely happens here. I don’t let it bother me or my kids and we still enjoy the school but if you are begging for positive reviews (and the schools communications lady is doing this) then I’m pretty sure there is some real issues and problems. Just make sure to do your research before sending your kids here to see if it’s a good fit. Most of the new reviews gives every area in the school a 5? Come on that is fake! Be honest in your reviews!

I have kids from k-6th grade. We have had amazing teachers that truly care about my children. The staff knows the students and it has a very small feel. The school utilized parents in many ways as volunteers and they are loved, welcomed and appreciated. They even offer onsite childcare while you are volunteering!!! Having grown up in the area and gone to the large schools, I am so happy to have my family be apart of this community. You can tell the parents care about their child's education & influences and it shows in the students. This school isn't without typical problems but it is much less of an issue cause of the amazing teachers & staff that want to help the kids. Many parents have gone on staff once their kids are all in school because of the culture and the family feel.

The most caring teachers and staff really care about the students and each other. Small school atmosphere just outside the Twin Cities and all it has to offer. Great field trips, activities, sports, etc. The focus is on character education.

The small community in having all students kindergarten through 12th grade is invaluable. Young students look up to the older students, and older students are encouraged to be role models through multigenerational experiences. Families can keep all of their students in one building, and teachers are able to seek great ways to meet the needs of their students through the many teachers that have worked with them. PACT is an outstanding school!

The school board is ran by a group of overly protective mothers that don't know how to run a school. It claims it's a college prep school which is partially right in the sense that everyone that does PSEO is solely doing it to get away from Pact. The Leadership at this school is a joke and only 20% of the teachers actually try and care. That saying there's only one or two good teachers. The longer the students are at this school the more depressed they get until they either do full-time PSEO or permanent self harm. The only good education that's available here is for children with special needs.

Love PACT Charter School and that they stand for. Many new faces that are turning the school around and working tirelessly to constantly improve it. I would highly recommend.

DON’T BE FOOLED by what the acronym suggests to stand for. This is not an allied partnership. It is a set of decisions made by a board of a select few parents. If you made the mistake, hope you never have to discuss or "work with" Emily, who is currently filling the role of ED w/o the checks and balances a public school would have. Superficial & lacks the people skills necessary to be working in a school with actual children & actual parents. Pray you have a rare unicorn of a child that will never make the mistakes of youth, the consequences will not fit the action and will be illogical to the purpose a consequence should serve. P&P will be interpreted by her alone without any monitoring or consequences of her choosing to do so, even when confronted with what the school policy actually states. But this school is notorious for their lack of clarity in communication. Just check the audits done by the authorizer Bethel College, it is addressed as one of their shortcomings. Communication and clarity are quite significant shortcomings when dealing with your children. Teachers are unclear with expectations in the classroom. Mixed signals to children and parents. Pray you have a magical child that can clearly explain what the expectations are. The bus rides are long and early. Plan on at least one hour - one way, most often arriving late to school. If your child likes to get on the bus at 6:40 and loves to travel, this may be the school for you. PACT caters to a stay at home parent atmosphere. The children have 2 Fridays off a month, so plan on childcare or put in your 2 wk notice. It’ll end up better in the long run, since you’ll need to fill the volunteer hours during school hrs & if you'd like to participate in any decision making that supposedly happens by parents, committees & meetings take place right after school, when working parents are at work. If you need to continue working, know that you’ll be alienated from the clique of stay at home parents able to fill that spot for you. If you're a single parent, meet with the admin before making a decision. They're unwilling to work with parents in situations that require it. We've been at PACT for 3 yrs for the small town feel & the value it boasts to uphold. They actually believe they are upholding those values & do so by walking a very fine line of becoming the very bullies they think they’re preventing.

A great experience in dealing with sub-standard administrators that undercut teachers. It really taught us that larger school systems, which might seem scary, probably do a better job because they have the resources. See ya PACT...

This school is a sham. Zero integrity across the board. I would characterize this place as a failing School. It fails the families, students, teachers, staff. What a joke. As soon as Ramsey elementary opens up, I hope pact shuts down. The school is being managed to closure. I wouldn’t recommend joining it.

So. It started great years ago. Then after numerous executive admin changes we end up with a bottom of the barrel person that can't fight their way out of a box. Do your due diligence before sending your kids here or working here. Read the school board minutes.

I have nothing positive to say about pact anymore. It’s a shame. A once great place ruined by the new ED and now board chair in 2017/18. I am ashamed we associated to that place. Most accurate words to describe pact: toxic. Low standards. Unhealthy. Bullies rule. Unstable. Nepotism is rampant. Lacks integrity. Read the recent reviews. if you are considering pact, I do not recommend it any longer.

We were so ecstatic to find out we were accepted to PACT. This would be our kids forever school until college, where they would make great lifelong friends. We would make great friends with parents. We were interested in what PACT was originally, with the emphasis on the homeschool techniques in the classroom and welcoming parents input. However, that is not what this school is anymore. We were stunned at the willingness of administration to speak negatively about the school and treat parents with complete disrespect. It became clear that the school atmosphere was toxic and not a healthy place to be for our family. Our children were not happy and asked to leave. Staff actually told us that our child was bored. We were concerned over the academics. Not just for our kids but other grades as well. Our child was repeatedly hurt in school and nothing was done about it. We had concerns over security. There weren't any real checks on who was entering the building. Main entrance had a doorbell, but no one was ever challenged...at least not that I saw. No security at other entrances. This has been talked about in school surveys and meetings. Leaving was a no brainer and I highly urge anyone to avoid this school. A fight is being waged over the future of PACT. Manners and respect are out the window and no matter what, students are losing. If things continue as they are going, there will be no distinguishing features that make PACT any different from your average public school. The one year we had at PACT, was one year too much. PACT is currently on probationary status with their authorizer.
