When my son became kindergarten age I wanted to send him to a private school, but my husband wanted to try our public school, Sunset View. I was hesitant simply because he was my first child and I wanted what was best for him. My husband and I ended up making a compromise that we would send him to Sunset View for kindergarten and re evaluate for the next year and I am so glad we did. Sunset View is, hands down, the best elementary school in the area. I personally went to a different elementary school in the area, and can confidently say sunset view is heads and shoulders over the rest. Needless to say my stun my son still attends Sunset View and, now, so does my daughter. The teachers are incredible the principle is amazing and a staff is great to work with. Every person in this school truly cares about each and every student. My son recently had an accident that almost cost him his life. Within 10 minutes of the office staff hearing about it, the principal and the school social worker were calling me to set up a time for them to come to our house, visit with us and offer help. I can not put into words how grateful I am for absolutely every single person who works at this school. You can NOT find a better school, or better teachers, staff, principal!!!

This school has been a better experience than the charter school we tried prior to it! That's saying a ton for a public school, I know! I have spent tons of time at the school both as a room parent and attending the many activities they do like International Nights, movie screenings, after school clubs, etc. The principal is amazing and he helped a student acquire a new bike after theirs was stolen from a bike rack. The preschool teacher Mrs. Lucero is an angel. We love Sunset View!

Being a teacher at this school I might be a little biased but I do have to say from my side of things this school is incredible. I love the staff I work with. The Principal, as well as the whole administrative team, really strive to make decisions based on what is best for the kids. Teachers are constantly learning strategies and tools to help kids succeed and grow. We are always updating curriculum and finding better curriculum and information that would be best for the kids. We have assembly's at least once a month to bring the whole school together and build a sense of unity. The assembly's are really fun and exciting. Kids love them! Overall the students that I have had LOVE coming to school, learning, the environment, and most of all their teacher :). It's a great GREAT school.

I love Sunset View! The teachers are great! They really care about the kids and go the extra mile. I love the principal! He hand picks the kids class if they have any problems. He has worked with me one on one to help my daughter succeed. He has gotten back to me within an hour of me voicing any concerns.

This school has many good teachers, and for that I gave it an extra star. We have moved a lot and I have worked in the school setting before, and some of the best teachers I have seen work(ed) at this school. The principal is the problem! He publicly humiliates children and is not approachable. We have talked to him numerous times, and he NEVER tries to work out a problem. He does not care if children are bullied and if a child has special needs, he harrasses them. The test scores improved, thus the 7 out of 10 rating. But the level of emotional damage that your child may endure does not make it worth it. He does not like kids, period! Dozens of families have left this school and are now homeschooling or enrolled their children in private schools or neighboring schools.
