I agree with another review saying this school was dealt a difficult hand. This is definitely a lower income population based school. The neighborhood looks great however the kids here are from across the freeway where the demographics are drastically different. My kids have stood out since day one and I feel left without much of a choice than to put them in another school.

As a parent at this school, I have felt that my child has grown and been very happy at Spring Creek. I am impressed with the way the faculty and staff have cared about my child. Their motto focuses on being kind, safe, and responsible. My child, who excels in school has always felt safe, and has grown immensely. He has been given opportunities to be in accelerated groups, and has had wonderful, kind peers. One of the things that impresses me most about Spring Creek is their ability to work with students from a variety of backgrounds and skill levels. For many years now, they consistently see growth in serving highly impacted populations. At the same time, they provide opportunities for students who easily thrive educationally to grow and develop, as well. One of our favorite things has been the opportunities before and after school like chess club, choir, drama, science fair, battle of the books, etc. My child has grown in a variety of ways and expanded his talents. This school cares about the students who walk in their doors, and seeks to serve their needs educationally and socially. I plan to send my daughter here next year!

They have come a long way in the past few years. However the office management and social workers are completely useless at this school if you have a child needing a SEP or personal restrictions, this school is not for you.

The teachers that my children have had care about my kids and where they need support. They have different programs for acceleration where needed as well. Right now my oldest son is in two accelerated classes for reading and math. I am very grateful that they give the opportunity to grow and he doesn't have to stay stagnant with the rest of his class. I feel that all of the kids get great attention to their needs. My second son does not do as well and his teacher makes it a point to help him one on one as much as she can. I have seen a huge difference with both of my children and I know that the staff works hard to make this possible.

Spring Creek has a nice, new building with great playgrounds and other amenities that come with a new facility. It is located in a nice middle-class neighborhood with families that care about education and want to be involved. We were excited to be a part of this school. We quickly realized that most of the kids in this area do not attend Spring Creek. Their parents drive them to other schools in Provo district or to charter schools. The majority of the students are bussed in from the other side of Provo where the demographics are very different. This is not necessarily bad, but know that everything sent home is in English and Spanish because many parents do not speak any English. We discovered that the teachers are excellent and really care about their students. However, when a class of 18 has 15 of those students below grade level, there is only so much a teacher can do. The students who are on or above grade level are pretty much ignored or asked to help the other students. There is so much potential, but this school was dealt a difficult hand, which is why many of the students who live in the boundaries for this school go somewhere else.

Spring Creek has been a great experience for my grandchildren. They make every effort to match the student with the teacher, so that they can have the greatest success in their schooling. The principle and the entire staff are dedicated to providing the best education possible for the students and I think they all need a great big THANK YOU for a job well done.

As the Principal at Spring Creek I hope that greatschools.org will post the most accurate information possible about our school. The data used for this rating is old. Over the past 2 years the school has made significant improvements in Language Arts and Math scores. Check out the school's website for the most current data to see that there has been an increase of 20% in both areas. It is time to update the rating of this school. Great things happen every day and our plans for the future will only bring about more success.
