Not special needs friendly, they will stonewall you & look the other way to bullying. Rampant nepotism.

The new principal is awful Jorge Rios. He has no discipline and he condos bullying. He victim blames the children. He told my son that he was looking for attention, my son has been bullied his whole 1st grade year. This principal has not nothing but blame my son for his lack of leadership. I find this unacceptable, I don't understand how a person like that can be a charge of elementary. I feel unsure of my sons safety in that school.

My husband and I recently put our daughter in Burton Elementary school (we moved from out of the area). The first day of school, my daughter said she didn't like it there and asked that we put her into a new school. She said that the children were speaking when the teacher was speaking, sitting on desks, not listening to the teacher, etc. Also, my daughter was use to getting 6 pages of homework a night at her old school, at Burton they only get 1 page a day and it is extremely easy math (below where they should be). When my daughter asked her teacher for more homework or harder homework he laughed and said no. When an incident happened at her school, they called everyone on her emergency card to bring her new pair of shoes (she broke her shoe at school), well everyone showed up with a pair, they didn't bother to call and tell all the other people that someone was already on their way...poor communication. ALSO...JUST REMEMBERED THIS......THEY HAD AN EARLY RELEASE DAY THAT WE WERE UNAWARE OF AND MY DAUGHTER SAT OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL FOR 2 HOURS ALONE UNTIL WE CAME TO PICK HER UP...WHEN WE GOT THERE, MOST THE STAFF HAD WENT HOME!!! EVERYONE SAW A CHILD ALONE OUTSIDE & NO ONE CALLED US..
