All of the teachers my son had at Angling were for the most part wonderful. The problem I feel is if you have a student that is below average or has any disability. The school is not well equipped to help those students, and from my experience, the leadership is not willing to take the necessary steps to set them up for success. My son has ADD and had a very hard time with executive function and focus but his grades were fairly good. He got his diagnosis in 4th grade and I wanted to have a 504 plan in place. The principal and counselor completely guided me away from doing this. I learned later that they did this not because they had his best interest in mind but it is work for them and they didn’t want to put in the effort. They assured me they would get one in place before he went to middle school which they did not. When I think back to the conversation they made me feel like I was overreacting and it wasn’t needed. I know now that regardless of grades, if your student meets the qualifications, they can and should have a plan in place. It makes me sad and angry that they really cared that little about him because it was extra work for them.

My child received wonderful care and attention from his kindergarten teacher. He had a challenging year and his teacher supported his growth and communicated effectively with us. His first grade teacher did not. His first grade teacher and the Principal were ineffective communicators. Safety and communication is a very large concern.

it’s a good school don’t get me wrong. but as a student that went there the staff is t the best. the principal dose a good job with stuff but then it comes to bullying….. I was bullied all my years there and i didn’t get any help from the councilors or principal. But the building is good and they teach pretty good.

We did not finish the year at this school and felt my child was so affected by this poor first experience at school that we needed to pull him out and seek other options. We believe in public education and were so sad to have had this experience where we hoped for so much more.

I am extremely pleased with Angling Road Elementary. The students are given great opportunities and resources, the teachers incorporate technology and bring in speakers, the level of parent involvement is terrific, and the students are very kind to one another. I couldn't be happier with my family's experience here.

Angling Road Elementary is a fantastic school. The instructional staff provides my children with quality education. The principal is supportive of every learner and always does what is best for the student. The PTO is exceptional and goes beyond what is needed to support the school.
